Due to the absolutely terrible service I would not recommend Watson Blinds.

Thoroughly recommend this business. I cannot speak highly enough about the friendly prompt and super customer service.
The quality of materials is far superior to any product I’d previously bought.
I had looked for some time for a company to supply and fit new blinds . Whist there are a lot of companies in the market place , so many are inferior quality and to be honest, customer service isn’t great, but Watsons really exceeded expectations and the material quality is really good . I would definitely recommend this company.

We recently had some outdoor blinds installed and had a few issues with the installation.

The installers, I dare not call them trades people, were terrible. The mess that was left was disgraceful, the damage to our eaves will necessitate the eaves being repainted. They used our expensive outdoor furniture, which is less than 6 months old as a work bench and the quality of the installation leaves so much to be desired. One of the blinds has been installed in such a way that there are exposed screws that that have been hacked off with an angle grinder and left with sharp edges that would slice a finger open. We were told that this blind would be installed using a spacer but the outcome was that it was installed using a piece of angle which is why there are exposed screws.
The blinds have locking pin's in the bottom rails which due to the way they have been installed there are only two of the four blinds in which these pin's be used. One of these two blinds the only way to use the pins would be to close the blind with someone in the pool area and once the blind is closed and the pin's are in position that person would need to climb out over the pool fence. When I questioned this I was told that they installed it this way because you couldn't reach the pins through the fence which is complete rubbish and makes no sense at all.

In addition to the installation issues there is the issue of the remote. We were quoted a 16 channel somfry remote and were given a 5 channel remote. We specifically asked for the 16 channel remote as we wanted to be able to use the one remote to control the 4 outdoor blinds that Watson's installed as well as some new Vergola's that we were about to have installed by another company, thank goodness!.

We also purchased the somfry WiFi bridge which the installer basically handed to me at the end of the job and told me that they don't set them up and that its easy to do yourself. The box looked second hand and had someone else's name on it which might explain why there were no instructions. About 3-4 frustrating hours later I managed to find some information online that I could use to set the device up.

Despite our disappointing experience in relation to the installation I was optimistic that I just needed to email Watson's with a list of defects and provide them with some feedback regarding our experience. I genuinely thought they might appreciate as it would allow them to address the issues though the development of some Team training. Unfortunately it appears that the performance onsite may simply be a reflection of the culture throughout the entire business. It has been over six weeks since I went to the trouble of sending them a lengthy and detailed email including photos and to date I have not received so much as an acknowledgement of my email.

Based on our experience so far I would suggest that if you are looking to use this company for anything whatsoever DON'T. Please do yourself a favour and find someone who will appreciate your business.

Like the lady in their television add we will not be a repeat customers and it will have nothing to do with the quality of the products.

A couple of years ago we went to Watsons to get some Roman blinds installed in our living room. Recently we wanted to get the same blinds in a similar fabric to match in each bedroom. It was a small thing but was really nice to learn that Watson still had our details on file and we were able to get the same material to match even though it was years later. Great customer service, will definitely be going back in the future.

I was looking to replace some old blinds with blockout blinds in a bedroom. Originally I thought about buying a cheap ready-made set from Bunnings or similar but ended up going with Watson because they were great at helping me through the process and suggesting colour samples. Quick installation and the price was great considering the service we got. Very happy with the result.

Support is not helpful but snide and evasive. 3weeks estimate goes to 3 months or longer (aka: no idea) without notice and then I’m considered the asshole trying to follow up and then in frustration asking for a refund only to be told that delivery is imminent!! Almost feel like waiving my deposit just so they don’t get other half...

I don't believe that I will recommend the business to anybody at all- I don't think it deserves it. The post sale is non existent and the staff are friendly but useless. They would keep you waiting on the phone for ages but when they eventually come back to you, the answer will be sorry I cant help you. On 4 September, we were charged $220 for call out fee (had to pay before they would be prepared to turn up). With the call out fee, the business was supposed to send two people, an electrician and a blind person to attend and provide advice and assessment. However on the day, only the electrician turned up. He told us that he had never seen the motor used for the blinds and took some photos of the motors so that he could make some enquiry. He left within 5 minutes after his arrival. We have never heard anything back from the electrician nor the business. We called the other day but was told that nobody had seen the photos the electrician took on the day. Not only did the blindman not turn up for the assessment, ( but we had already paid for), we received a quote on 23 October for a new blind in place of the old one which had also been supplied by Watson Blinds some 5 years ago. I wondered who provided that quote when the electrician who did turn up did not even know the blinds or the motor that he was supposed to look at. On what basis did they provide that quote for the new blind. It is total unfair and I consider it predatory on their part. We paid over $30000 to the business 5 years ago for the blinds. Since then we have had nothing but trouble with post sale service. The caps at the bottom of the blinds kept coming out and they said that they would replace them, but guess what- they never delivered on the promise... Disappointment is an understatement as far as we are concerned. We are supposed to support the locals but the locals are not interested in supporting its customers, I am not sure whether the business deserves our loyalty... My name is David and I am from Forde and can be contacted on 0420644091.

I have gone from being a strong supporter of Watson Blinds to vowing that I will never set foot into that shop again. You would think that during these tough economic times, any business would want to retain its loyal customer base. Not Watson Blinds!!!

I recently went to their Fyshwick store to order some blinds for my study (the second job in a list of window refurbishments throughout the whole house). I had the precise window dimensions and wanted a couple of comparative quotes on different types of roller blinds before placing an order. I was told in no uncertain terms by the sales lady "that we don't give quotes in the sales room". She was adamant that I had to make an appointment and someone would come to my place and give me a quote. I thought this was ludicrous in a time of Covid-19 and social distancing. When I asked why this was necessary, she indicated that "clients get window measurements wrong" and "Watson Blinds don't want to be held responsible". Again, ludicrous, as my husband is a builder and if he cannot measure a window accurately, heaven help us! I also pointed out that about a month ago we done just that - we had placed a Venetian blind order for two bath room windows based on our own measurements. After giving us a quote, which we accepted, Watson Blinds made the blinds within a fortnight according to our specifications. Everything fitted and we were extremely happy with the product. I wanted to know why this was possible a month ago but not now. I also offered to sign a waiver that I would not hold Watson Blinds responsible if my measurements were wrong. The sales lady got increasingly agitated and kept repeating her position. At this point I realized it was useless pursuing the conversation and I left.

Not only was my sales room encounter very unpleasant, but what followed next was even more irksome. I am not one to leave bad reviews on websites or bad mouth a business. Never have! I felt the owners or General Manager of Watson Blinds should know how I felt about their customer service. So I rang Watson Blinds that afternoon and asked to speak to one of the owners or the General Manager. I was told the latter was in a meeting. Understandable! So I left my contact details and requested that he phone me back when it was convenient. Literally within a couple of minutes some sales person phoned me back. I stated that I wanted to speak to the General Manager, but was told that he didn't have time to talk to me and had delegated the matter to the person on the phone. Believe that if you may! So I repeated my grievance at not being given a quote based on my measurements, when clearly this was possible a month ago. Instead of listening, I was told that this was "company policy" and to basically go away with my complaints.

So here we are! The matter still irks me! But where do I go when customer feedback is not wanted. I hope the owners and General Manager of Watson Blinds read this review. I have always been a strong supporter of Canberra based businesses, but I am afraid that this company has lost my clientele for good!

Visited Watson Blinds and Awnings today in Fyshwick as I’m building a new house and wanted a ball park figure as to how much it was going to cost to install plantation shutters. Had my window measurements with me. Their showroom was fantastic. But I never got past the reception counter.
Salesperson said they don’t quote off plans and the home had to be completely finished before they would come to measure and give a quote. Then it would take up to 10 weeks from time of order to installation. That would mean 10 weeks in my new home with no window furnishings whatsoever. Would not even give me a rough estimate of how much it would cost. Never even bothered to show me any of features, options of the product. I had to admire from afar. Her manner was dismissive and one of disinterest.
I left to go across to a competitor and they were willing to give an interim estimate based on my plans- somewhere between $30-$35K. The staff was friendly, informative and showed me all the options. So now I have some indication of cost and time frame.
Another competitor I visited took a copy of my measurements and promised an interim quote in 2 weeks.
Another store I visited is sending a consultant next week to give me a measure and quote at my new unfinished house.
A smile and a welcoming, friendly and helpful sales approach costs nothing. Perhaps Watson’s is so busy they don’t need my business and a potential sale of $30K+.
Not good enough Watson Blinds and Awnings.

If you think youre gonna get blinds in 10 weeks with this company think again. We ordered ours in December 2020 and after a LOT of no shows - all requiring me to take a time off work - and a bunch of incompetent bungles (misplacing our blinds in the factory, installing the wrong way, with the wrong power source and the wrong system (ordered Somfy, got Acmeda, but they put Somfy on our curtains so we have to runs two systems, two $400 hubs) we finally got them in June of 2021.Made an $18K deposit and for that I had to live with butchers aper on the windows for six months. It is now December of 2021 - more than a year after ordering and making a deposit - and they still havent rectified three faulty blinds that were installed the wrong way and are distorted. Our front window block motor is gone already, so now were back to square one with the neighbourhood able to see in. We have no privacy. I would NOT recommend this firm. It has been six months since their last call out and they keep cancelling on us each time requiring a lengthy two month wait until the next no show.
