Most overated restaurant I have ever been too ! Prices are extreme and food very average. service ok but clumsy and considering the prices far from quality !
Entres of garlic prawns ($27 approx) and scallops tasted ok but prawns were tiny and garlic oil was just garlic oil - nothing more . My $40 plus steak was cooked blue instead of medium rare which I would be fine with if the steak was good quality but it was such an effort to saw through it that I kept making the table move lol ! Other meals of fish and chips and crumbed steak were no better then the local chipper or cafe but the prices were double that. Would never go back and have no idea how this place continues to attract customers when there are so many other fantastic cheaper restaurants close by ?

We went to the Witch's Cauldron recently for a birthday celebration. We had avoided this place due to the mixed reviews and the show-stopping price tag of the mains. But we decided to give it a go.

We had the Tasting Plate (about $29) to share and it was quite ok in terms of portion, price and value...three cold prawns, pate, terrine, fried cheese, goat's cheese, olives, small pieces of bread, beef skewer, smoked salmon.

For mains, I couldn't go past the signature Garlic Prawns. The portion was certainly very generous, about 30 prawns the size of a 20 cent coin each) cooked in a slight spicy garlicky olive oil and served with white rice. It was very tasty but I still feel $48 is a lot to pay.

My partner had a sirloin steak with mashed potato ($46) and the portion was ok. The mash though, was at best, the same standard as I would make it at home. Certainly not one of their best dishes.

Decoration was a real throwback to the 80s. Service was friendly.

At the end of the day, it was an ok meal and we left with full bellies. But would I be rushing back? Probably not for the price tag of the mains.

The best garlic prawns I have had, and the entrée is a fairly decent size. the pricing is a little expensive but the food is definitely worth it. I loved all the little quirky witch things around. The staff are really nice and care about your experience. An Amazing experience and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Beautiful food at the Witches Cauldron, the Garlic Prawns are still the best in Perth. I had them for entree and you do get a decent serve, I also had the chicken breast for my main which was juicy and tender and the sauce was so creamy. The food is lovely but you do pay for it as it is expensive, especially the drinks. The decor I think needs to be revamped as it is dated now, but it is a lovely atmosphere and the food is exceptional

This is one of my all time favourite restaurants. Been here many times. Food is always to an excellent standard, steak is cooked to your liking to perfection. Garlic prawns best ever. Desserts are beautiful. Yes you pay a little more than some places, but it is worth it. If you have an issue with something they are straight onto it with no bad feelings. They can cater for any size group and still give the same amazing service as always. Go on indulge yourself, you wont be disappointed!

We have been to this restaurant twice and had the most amazing meal, great service and delicious food. wow they went down hill.
I went there for a special occassion and now I will remember it for the wrong reasons! Table was booked. turned out full of people. The waiter made them leave making me feel bad. Got crap service through the meal, had to try to get anyones attention - not successful. brought out the wrong wine maitre de was rude. ruined my special occassion and to top it off as I left the door caught my jacket and tore it! Not Happy

I went here for an end of year work meal (so didn't sit in the usual restaurant area. I had the garlic prawns for an entree, mushroom & avocado salad for main and some kind of petit dessert. It was all very delicious, although I was a little mushroomed out and couldn't finish the main I was still able to eat my dessert which was really really nice.
