I love woolworths. Very cheap but quality items for the most part. Staff is very friendly, I actually used to know one of the workers when I was very young and sometimes he says hello to me. Staff is always happy to help.

I want Woolies to stop behaving like a corporate raider, and start behaving like a supermarket. I understand that they need to remain competative, but when will they wake up to the fact that customers respond on many more levels than price? All this rubbish about the milk prices, has forced me (well, I have decided, lets say) to support the australian owned environmentally responsible dairy farmers who suffer under woolworths pricing policies. I pay almost twice what I used to to achieve this. Also, I want them to actually respond to customers, not just litter their marketing material with claims that they do. I want them to stop investing in palm oil plantations. I want them to reward ethical producers like Dick Smith, not let them get crowded out by international scumbags like Kraft and evil 3rd world exploiters like Nestle. And I want my damn Tahini back on the shelves!

Can always find what you are looking for, the store is always clean and tidy with plenty of staff if you need assistance. I don't mind the oldies out the front, I think it's cute, the lil old men sitting around waiting for their Missus..
And I love the old lady on the checkouts, very slow, but she will brighten up your day like no one else can. I haven't seen her for a while, hope she's OK

One of the first Woolies I went to when i moved to Newcastle recently and was trying to find some of the better shopping experiences in the area and this Store was a bit of an eye opener. It was a good sized store, kinda reminds me of how Woolworths used to be back in the good ol days and I reckon I found Australia's oldest Check-out Chick there hahahaha!! She must've been about 80 yrs old, slower than a wet week but she had a wit that would run rings around women half her age...she was a classic and worth the looong wait through the checkout. I enjoyed the experience.

The experience varies depending on which day you go shopping. Most of the staff are ok, with the exception of one of the butchers who is always quite abrupt. Not the best place to shop for groceries if you want good service and value for your money. The pricing of fruit and veg seems to be much dearer at this one in comparison some other Woolworths stores.

Always a good product range, shop is always cleen and not a mess, I prefer to get my Deli goods fresh not prepackaged, the Veg seems to be fresh, lots of staff when needed with some idea on where and how to find products.

Approximate cost: $40

To shop at night you may get some discounts, but you may have a fight with the shelf-stackers and their cartons, trolleys etc. It is not for those who find it difficult to navigate. Otherwise, a standard supermarket.
