Terrible website that won't let you leave an honest negative review. Even when it's written in a non threatening opinion point of view. in my opinion womo give misleading information because all the negativity is hidden or asked to be edited. Everyone ends up with great reviews only which is very unfair. I will never trust a positive review I read on womo ever again!

By no means do we allow "great reviews only" - After all we rely on reviews, positive, negative or neutral for our site to exist. I've got quite a few one and two star reviews peppered throughout my 95 odd reviews. I've had one review rejected once but I can't remember why. That's a reasonable stat for nearly 100 reviews I think.

I've got a few quite negative reviews that I've posted (1-2 stars) and had no problems. I think as long as you can detail what was wrong with your experience in a constructive way then WOMO won't retract it.

Womo hasn't taken off in my area yet but I can see the advantages of such a website. As someone actively searching for reviews, Womo has helped me choose businesses to use however I'm not so sure about the hit-and-miss methods they use when matching reviews to members. Nothing really interests me in the emails they send and when looking for something local, I often come up with something completely useless which makes me suspect the business that pops up is paying a premium to be listed there. For instance, I just entered "Photographer" in "Camden NSW" and the second result was on the Gold Coast in QLD! That's about 900km from Camden! Plus tonight on the "My Womo" page amongst a whole lot of carpet cleaning businesses (none of which is 10km from my home and I have brand new carpet anyway so do not require it to be cleaned) is a review for an escort company. As in prostitutes! They sure pulled that one out of a hat!!!

So as a place to find businesses appropriate for me, they are not doing too well. It's usually easier to just go with Google. Maybe that's because there really aren't a lot of reviewers in my area just yet. As a place to earn points for reviews, it's an easy enough effort but I'm realising it's an uphill battle. My points expire before I actually visit enough places to earn me any rewards which, let's face it, it the reason I'm here! Considering the depth I go into with my reviews I wouldn't mind a courtesy email letting me know I'm about to lose some points, particularly as the Womo website is a little confusing to navigate through. I think that's another reason why I just write my reviews then give up on looking for businesses on here. I log back on every few weeks to see what tickles my fancy but it's still just carpet cleaners whose reviews I wouldn't trust considering the timeframe in which they've been posted and the fact that each reviewer has only reviewed one or two businesses. Oh, and hookers ;)

This made me chuckle, but you're right about the selection of things sent in emails - most of them are not near me or it's an invite to do something on Facebook. I don't have Facebook and so can't join in. Agree on the expiring points too. Good luck with ... cleaning. LOL

I've wondered the same about the suggestions I'm sent in emails and the expiring points. Be very nice getting an email to let you know when points are going to expire rather than signing in with a new review to find that so many have gone.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback!
Just to clarify, the way the WOMO reviews feed is currently set up, is to show your reviews for businesses that actually service your area. So for example, a carpet cleaner that may be based in a suburb 100km from you, has indicated that they are willing to travel to your suburb to actually complete your job. So - although you may not drive to them, they would drive to you!
A similar thing applies with businesses that are online or a franchise, and service Australia wide. You may Be In Perth, but they can still service Tasmania.

In regard to the points expiry, this is something that was put in place after a lot of consideration! However, we have had a lot of feedback regarding it, so have put it in the pipeline for changes.
It is feedback like this that helps us to improve to be the best we can be so we really appreciate your time.

Its a great way to find more information whether its good or bad service at a place before going. Womo is one of the best ideas I've seen in a long time. It's back to basics approach combined with a forumla that can't fail is very inspiring. You can find anything you want and the whole process is easy. It's about time a site like this existed.

I never go out to a new restaurant before checking diner reviews! I used another site but find the reviews on WOMO much more honest and helpful! I also use WOMO for my business, so its a great way to get feedback from customers and spread the word!

Womo get a perfect score from me. In my opinion WOMO stands for W - Worldly, O - Organised, M - Managed, Online. They are the perfect example of getting the job done and doing it to the best of their ability. If you can't find something useful on this site, then you are clearly telling me lies. This site has helped both my husband and I and our close nit circle of friends. The site is simple to navigate, self explanatory with the only downside being it can be slow at times between pages, but that's all fixable. The fact that this simple, yet brilliant idea has been taken online is a credit to the person who devised it. Australia's best find for 2013 for mine.
