Wynstan, with a Y, my question why did we.
We signed up over 2 years ago to get roman blinds for six windows, small windows, nothing difficult. Chose the fabric from the samples provided at the home “free measure and quote” paid the deposit and look forward to our new curtains.
Not wishing to bore you (and open old wounds) with a blow-by-blow experience, just to say it was a disaster, a litany of broken promises, which could be considered as to be outright lies.
So, the first set the fabric was “bubbly” which we rejected and Wynstan agreed to change, this saga went on for nearly 2 years, 4 or 5 set of curtains (if the installer only puts one up and he rejects the quality does that count as a set?). We were told it was (twice) manufacturing, then fabric (so we agreed to a change) then once installed they needed to hang (that being to have the curtains down all day and night, for a month) which we allowed on two separate occasions as this fortunately fitted into our travel plans. Sadley for us little improvement.
So finally, after many, many emails and phone conversation they came around to our idea to refund our money and take the curtains back, ops no they sent out a manager to “find out what level of poor quality we would accept” no sure why we had to consider this? Customer service phone us to say that “the manager said that 2 of the six curtains were okay” and they would part refund for the other 4. How unprofessional (and ridicules) 6 curtains were over 3 rooms, 4 in the one area, so were we to have differing curtain types in the one room? Offer REJECTED.
We were told in no uncertain terms that the curtains had to be removed before any credit issued, we agreed on a date and time (4pm) so that I would be home. I provided all the bank details and advised their credit people I was expecting the transfer of funds on the same day as the removal.
The day came and they arrived 30 min early woke my wife and had the curtains down and gone before I arrived home at 3:50 (on the Tuesday). Wait for it, then I was advised that funds would be processed on the next Friday, we know what that means, it may hit the bank on the following Tuesday one week later than expected.
In short, they are unprofessional, hard to deal with (multiple phone conversation with 10 different people) I was going to count up the emails but, gave up after about 75. So, buyer beware.
