the thing was: we arrived and looked at the menu and prepared to order our meals. but we noticed that there was a $35 minimum per head.

so off putting!

the drinks were also ridiculously overpriced (possibly making it easier for us to arrive at the $70 expected of us).

i understand that businesses have to make money, that's totally reasonable.

but the problem for me is that for $70 for two people, we could have eaten anywhere! we were after a quick, light meal and a few drinks, and we would have stayed less than an hour.

regulating and directing diners seems like a terrible business plan.

creating a friendly and welcoming environment, with awesome staff and a great atmosphere, seems like a better plan, and has definitely worked to encourage me to spend more.

we left quite awkwardly, and went to a restaurant where the eventual bill was only just a little less than the $70 we were expected to pay at this restaurant!

Good quality restaurant and lots to choose from. Not normally a japanese fan i was pleasantly surprised. There was far more to choose from and eat than i thought. Food was good
