This is truly the best Indian food I have ever eaten. I find it hard to eat anywhere else, because I know it won't be as good.

Living in South Yarra for almost two years, I frequented this place a lot. It's hidden, but I love it - makes you feel like you know a secret that no one else does!

The food is incredible. The lamb curry is my favourite - the lamb is tender and moist, full of flavour. Other meals are amazing too - the butter chicken and the lamb korma are other standouts.

You can't beat the price - $10 for a main, including rice, naan bread and papadums. Ridiculous for such great food. Mango lassi is another favourite, worth a try.

Even now that I have moved, I still go back to South Yarra just to eat here. The man that runs is it so friendly, he remembers me every time I go back and even recognises my voice when I ring to place a takeaway order!

Highly recommend the food here - you will definitely not be disappointed.

I cannot reinforce prior reviews for Yarra Indian Take Away and Cafe enough - this simply is the BEST Indian I have ever tasted! If you like Indian you MUST sample this hidden gem in South Yarra.

The owner is a friendly man who makes everything on site - the dips, entrees and mains all prepared by him.

The food is to die for - flavoursome, generous portions of meat and vege and not heavy or soggy.

The day core and TV playing Indian/Bollywood music adds to the charm and experience.

The pricing is unbeatable and this place could easily put its prices up. $10 gets you any main (par seafood), naan and poppadum - An absolute bargain.

Do not go past this place - we can't wait to go back!!

Approximate cost: $10.00

it's such good value. the food is amazing and very authentic tasting. the quality of ingredients is always consistent. the servings are generous. best value is dinner pack - $9.90 for main (meat or veg), rice, naan and pappadums. so much food, almost enough for two. the food is always so tasty we end up regretting eating so much.

Approximate cost: $8

The best Indian food I have ever eaten anywhere in the world. The food is very natural tasting with clearly no shortcuts in preparation. The service is homely and welcoming. This place is so great I did not want to let the secret out by reviewing it....but I am thinking of the greater good and letting you all in on it!

Approximate cost: $9

Very good indian, dont be put off with the fact there is no tablecloths and the music videos are a bit dodgy. Absolutely fantastic food and great value.. The medium to hot Chicken Tikka Masala was great..more on the hot side.. great choice of breads.. you have to buy your water though..!! dont walk by this one..!

Approximate cost: $15.00
