This place was just amazing! I had one of the best steaks in my entire life from here and it didn't even come with that huge annoying price tag either! Wonderful menu, great ambience and staff are friendly and polite. This is a place where you get more for your dollar.

We were invited to Zagar's by our daughter & son-in-law, who have been a number of times and rave about the steaks and the service.

Well I must say they were not exaggerating! The restaurant is smallish, well appointed and decorated, and being upstairs gives it a quiet friendly atmosphere. The menu is simple, and the food is out of this world. For entree I shared the tasting plate: mini mignons, and the most beautiful sausages I have tasted. My wife had grilled prawns that were available as a special, and they were superb. Then I had the porterhouse, my wife the scotch fillet. Both were juicy and very tender, cooked to perfection (for me - medium). The steaks are cooked over mallee-root coals! The main courses come with an excellent home made potato salad and coleslaw. The desserts were excellent as well.

Service was efficient and attentive. There is a good wine list, but they also happy with BYO.

It's worth seeking this place out.

The steaks here must be tried out to be believed! My partner tried the chicken and it was sensational as well. The dining atmosphere is excellent and the recommended wine was very enjoyable and matched the food. Overall a superb night out.
