I was sent an email by their third party agent - debit success- saying that they were unable to process my payment for the week. I found it puzzling considering I kept the exact amount (9.99) in that account each week. Soon as I got that notification, I responded immediately and asked them to try the debit again. I suggested an alternative which is to try the debit the next billing cycle if their system only tries to debit once a week. Surprisingly, the debit successfully went through the second week for 19.98, which accounts for unsuccessful previous and successful subsequent weekly debit.

Surprise, surprise! I keep getting notification to pay for a late payment penalty which does not apply to me. I have written to zap fitness to muzzle their third party payment platform. I have not received a response from them. I am considering riding out the 18 months duration and permanently closing my account with zap fitness. They apparently are either unable to control their third party agent (a clear sign of weakness and unreliability) or they just don't care about customer relationship.

Not the most modern equipment but ZAP Elsternwick has everything you need for a work out and it’s open 24 hours too! Good layout for a small gym, convenient and cheap.

The local Zap has no air conditioning and limited air flow due to a lack of windows. The door is the only source of fresh air and this is closed when the gym is unattended. The gym is unusable when the outside temperature is warm let alone hot..

Approximate cost: $13

Zap is a brand new 24/7 Gym, so you get your own key and can go whenever you like. They've been there for 8 or 9 weeks and all the equipment is brand new - love it! I've been going a few different times of the day and it's usually quiet in the mornings around 8AM, but gets busy at around 5:30PM - so all treadmills will typically be taken at this time, but there's plenty of other things to do! I enjoy training there because it's quiet, the music isn't blaring and I can go whenever I like, regardless of opening hours!

It's cheap as too, around $11 per week. The first time you go to sign up, there is staff between 10AM-6:30PM weekdays I think! Best of all - no contracts to lock you on for a year or two!

Approximate cost: $11
