Went to Zen for a basic hair cut today and from the moment I was seated, I instantly regretted it. My hair was washed by a staff who either didn't know how to wash hair or simply couldn't be bothered. Staff washed only one side of my head, I think this was partly because if staff leaned over to wash the other half, staff's long hair dangled onto my face. Staff didn't walk me back to my chair when finished, just disappeared into the back room. The stylist i was booked in with paid no attention to what i asked for, which was just a basic trim, hacked at my hair till it was unrecognizable, cutting big chunks out of my hair with no skills what so ever, just at random. Then blow dried my hair, which the end result was frizzier than when i had walked in. (i have naturally straight hair!) When i had tried to ask them to correct the parts i wasn't happy with, they became more and more disinterested in me. It got to the point where the more i asked of them, the more they ruined my hair. I eventually gave up. They didn't bother to see me out and i waited very disappointed at the counter to pay. I will never return to this salon and won't be recommending it to anyone!!

Went to zen tarneit for some foils and a basic colour. When i got there got the royal treatment from the staffs offering coffee and tea... when i got my hairdresser (not who i thought would be doing my hair) i explained to staff what i wanted told me that it was too much for me and that staff would make it a bit more sutler which i was fine with. staff did the colour - and then left me there - another staff member then came to wash and tone it - and took me back to my seat for it to be blow dried. there was no product put in it - no conditioning moisturizer, staff then did not brush it just towel dried it and started to blow dry - i had to tell staff to stop as staff was ripping my hair out and that staff needed to brush it. after it was blow dried it felt dry and very limp. now that i have washed it, blow drying it is a nightmare it is so dry... whatever product they are using is terrible. And the management - needs to smile a bit.

Went into Zen Studio,the girls are very welcoming and friedly.Had a a good experience their and found the conversation great & would diffenently recommened too all my friends and i will be back....great job girls ps LOVE THE COFEE :)

Went for full head if foils! Would not recommend anyone who gets foils to go here. First I was left sitting for 15 mins while staff was sitting at desk starting at screen. Then decided to bring me over to a chair because that person was the stylist I was waiting for. I did think about just walking out but had an event the next day really needed to get my roots done. Staffs put the foils in they talked over me about their own interests. Ignored me. When the bleach was wash out I was brought back to chair stylist was combing my hair it was break off dropping to the ground because they had brought product through the hair when it was only regrowth that needed done. When I left my hair felt like straw I couldn't get my fingers through it. It had not been washed properly after getting it toned they just rinsed it put in conditioner. I washed it when I got home put in a treatment. After drying it putting in pony tail I could see where they missed load of hair around my face. I have a dark halo and look like I have regrowth will need my hair done again in a couple of weeks. Also I can see where I now have all these random short pieces of hair it's where pieces have broken off. I had my hair cut at my regular salon a few weeks ago it looks like I haven't had it cut in months with all the breakage. The morning after my hair was so dry and kinked & bushy after I brushed it. I find it do hard to manage now its so damaged. My regular hair dresser just adviced I can keep doing treatments but really I should consider cutting it off. I used to go to Zen a few years ago never had problems like this only stopped going there after I moved to other side of the city.

Was a loyal customer of this salon for years!!! Had my hairdresser who always made time to chat and always offer me a drink after a hard days work!! Went to book in for an appointment with my hairdresser and was told that she was on holidays, asked when she was back! They said that they didn't know?? Have since booked in under the impression she was working there, on day of appointment was told that she didn't work there anymore and was not informed over the phone and was given the worst hairdresser I have ever had! I have always had the same haircut style and service now it's gone! They lack the creativity that my hairdresser had. They were very very pushy and I didn't feel like a long term value customer... I would rather spend my money elsewhere. I would never go back to this place... Ever! If you know where she is please let me know... I'm sure everyone would be wondering as well seeing as all the experience and quality is no longer there....

I would highly recommend this salon. The staff are fantastic. The salon is absolutely amazing. The decor is exceptional and very welcoming. The staff are extremely professional. You are welcomed as a friend and treated like a person not a number. They are up to date with all the latest fashion as I experienced. Both the beauty and hair girls are very well presented, I could just sit in there for hours with them. The service they offer and provide is exceptional and I would highly recommend everyone to go to this salon so they could experience the same experience I had. You girls are beautiful, I love my hair and am so pleased with my wax. See you all again soon.

Well where do I start. Not only in the past have I had to wait for at least 1 .hr but I had to do deal with the management that was truly rude. I walked out furious and wondered how in this day does a business survive this like. Customer service doesn't exist and cliental from what I saw is definitely dwindling. I'd rather be serviced at a cheap salon where people actually know how to crack a smile and actually do their job properly. If I was you never go there as you will be poorly disappointed and wish you had spent your time counting cars instead!

Thanks to everyone's feedback here, I called in today for an appointment to have my highlights corrected (done by another salon) and I am amazed by my experience and the result!!! Kirsten is the BEST!! Finally found the best salon here in Melbourne after dwelling in others for a whole year!! The girls are really nice, place is fantastic, and the service is beautifully delivered :) I doubt it anyone walks out there unhappy because they do care and they listen! My hats off to Zen Studio's staff - Excellent Services!!
