Over 2 months to complete kitchen, still waiting since July 2012 for rubbish to be removed, now have waited 3 weeks for a draw runner to be completed. Company wants me to do all the running around.

When researching for a kitchen place we came across Zesta Kitchens. The staff appeared friendly however the receptionist was not very knowledgeable and not much help. We did end up purchasing our kitchen through Zesta. The follow up was non-existant and communication was lacking to say the least. We were very embarrassed when the cabinets arrived as scheduled and the driver asked about payment. We were not informed that the delivery driver was paid for the cabinets on delivery and this also happened when the tradesmen finished their work and asked for cash or cheque we had neither arranged. We thought that going through Zesta all would be paid to them and they pay it to the tradesmen. At the initial stage we were advised that we would get a letter about 10 days before outlining the process so not to worry about this, the letter still hasn't arrived. This was our first time renovating and not sure what the processes are and how to go about it and it feels like we should have done it all ourselves and not relied on Zesta to guide us as no real guidance was given. Another annoying thing is that the quote for the tradesmen were out a few hundred dollars, so with an already very tight budget and what we thought an accurate quote...allow a bit extra (the tiling will have to wait!) and one thing would be for Zesta to update the price list used for the quotes. The cabinet installer, electrician, plumber and plasterer were great, on time and did a good job. One sort of positive, the door knobs that I chose based on the display kitchen, were not the knobs supplied. When first bringing this to their attention I got little concern however when I went to the display centre is show that they were different to what I wanted and saw on display, Toby took the knobs from the display so that I could have the knobs to match my kitchen. Now the display reflects the product that will be supplied. Overall a bit disappointing but our kitchen looks great!

We have only recently become aware of WOMO and hence your review. We are deeply sorry you experienced a couple of situations that dissatisfied you. With regards your pre-payment for the kitchen - we can certainly understand your embarrassment and annoyance here... regrettably this has been a mix up between our office and our transport people's office. We are also sorry about the communication issue of our system regarding trade estimates and the payment of approved installers... this system delivers a better price to customers as there is no Zesta on built into these prices. We do however guarantee their performance to you at no cost. Regrettably, occasionally the estimates might be under the actual costs... the installation estimates are marked as estimates and are generally correct or close to the mark. This not a perfect science... we are not contracting for trades with a mark up included. The Zesta supply agreement clearly sets out that Zesta is not involved in the installation of kitchens... however we do work very closely with our approved team and DIY installers.

Regarding the knobs, apparently there had been an update and our factory sent the replacement batch... you should have been advised. However as you advise, Toby gave you the knobs off display on the spot without question when you came to inform that they were in-fact different.

On the brighter side however, you appear to be happy with trades, installation of kitchen and the final result, this is the real important thing. This is not to say we did not fall short of your expectation... we do take our obligations seriously and try very hard to make our customers happy. We have completed some 3,950 kitchens in the last 9.5 years and the records show we have few disappointed customers. In an attempt to compensate you for our shortcomings, we would like to present you with an 8 piece Stanley Rogers steak knife set. Just call into our Nunawading showroom and the attendant on duty will deliver one to you on the spot.
