I had my car stolen, it was found undamaged, except 1 door and boot lid scratched, the keys were taken, so no forced entry occurred.
All that was needed, paint door & boot lid, replace body control module and all 4 door lock fittings. After 1 week was told it was ready except the radio didn't work, picked the car up then on closer inspection noticed that all the door lock fittings were either broken or fitted by a blind man , effecting the locking operation to the point that it could not lock or be unlocked once it tried to lock and jammed. after a few more days in there possession they could not get the radio to work, even being supplied the correct PIN. they wanted a few more days to experiment with it.
I had enough at this point, rang Holden asked them to check the radio/cd unit to find that it had a different PIN to what worked a few months earlier when i replaced the battery. The radio/CD unit had been swapped [ found out later why, it has an intermittant Fault.] Fixing what they said they had problems with, cost me $51.50 to get the New PIN going by the Serial No: on the swapped radio/cd unit and took five minutes, as apposed to over 3 days and more. Yep Still more - because of the dismantling of the doors to replace the locks 1 window does not work (electric type) another scrapes as it winds down.
Be very very wary of what is done, replaced, borrowed or swapped from your car, only to find out later on down the track when things go wrong/fail, and to have it checked and told the serial numbers or version numbers are wrong for your model. This I did not expect as part of any repair, I regret not doing it myself and left NRMA because of there response or lack of.
