The Story Behind Word of Mouth

When Word of Mouth launched in 2007 by founders Fiona Adler and Brad Bond, the idea was to provide an online platform for customers to leave their feedback for local businesses.

At the time, Fiona was renovating her home but found she was reluctant to hire a service provider without recommendations. After struggling to find a place where she could both provide and read customer reviews, the idea of Word of Mouth was conceived.

Both Fiona and Brad devoted their time and energy into Word of Mouth, striving to make it the best way for businesses to grow their word-of-mouth marketing and empowering customers to leave reviews and find great businesses.

In February 2015, Word of Mouth became a part of Oneflare, a leading local services marketplace and a platform for customers to hire trusted Australian businesses. The partnership has since resulted in improvements to the site’s design and navigation, and a boost in online traffic.

The story of Word of Mouth has always been centred on its strong community of customers and local businesses who have contributed significantly to the site’s growth over the years.
