I took my son to purchase a school bag, pencil case, and bathers. The bag was on the rack beneath an "Up to 50% off" sign (selected styles). I wasn't too concerned when he picked a bag as it was part of his Christmas present, whether full price or otherwise I was happy to pay whatever. We got to the checkout and the bag scanned at 50% off. The girl behind the counter wasn't sure that it was meant to be on sale. She scanned another of the same style/colour and it scanned at 50% off as well. However, when she scanned the blue bag of the same style, it scanned at full price. She told me that she would have to charge me full price, was apologetic etc. I did not want to upset my son, so I paid.

Apparently, as long as they change the price before you pay, it's okay. So lesson learned - don't accept the price if you're not happy! That's on me. However, I feel that the situation could have been handled better by the staff, and unfortunately left feeling less than happy after spending nearly $200 in the store.

I tried to get a refund as I'd rather support a business who focuses on customer service, but they only offered me store credit as per their policy.

I don't write this because I feel entitled to anything...I just want to warn others not to make the same mistake as I did. While the quality and styles may be good, they are generally overpriced, and for a small, locally owned business, I feel that their policies echo that of bigger, less customer-centric businesses, which is a real shame.
