This review is for The Deck On Parkyn, Mooloolaba QLD

The Deck On Parkyn is located above the Mooloolaba Fisheries building. By night it is a licensed restaurant serving delicious seafood platters and fresh cooked fish dishes. Very casual with large area overlooking the fishing wharfs.

During the day you can purchase cooked seafood and platters downstairs and eat on The Deck. As this is opposite the beach and children's playground this is a great choice for family friendly dining.

First time I ate her we ordered champagne lobster mornay and it was outstanding value. Cost about $15 for a tray of about 4 (8 halfs) small, yet delicious lobsters. Wow.

Recommended for the fresh local fish lovers and those seeking an authentic beach side dining experience.

Luxury farm holiday cottage on a large property. This place has the WOW factor, it was amazing. Huge spaces for just one couple - you can really spread out. Everything is tip top, surprising and luxurious but with some old fashioned Australian farmhouse style mixed in.

We couldn't get over this rental house, it just offers so much more (of everything).

Key features, privacy, peaceful, gourmet kitchen, coffee machine, 2 bathrooms, about 4 living zones & then there is the outside, verandahs and BBQ area. One bedroom with ensuite, luxury linen (everything made up ready).

Enjoyed - spa / sauna room, pantry items, heaps of cooking / serving ware. Fireplace! It was romantic country indulgence. Hosts are friendly and great knowledge of area. Found it easy to get to and just over an hour from Western Suburbs of Melbourne.

Location - a little remote & secluded (this can only be a good thing) enjoyed visiting the local businesses and attractions, great to be out in the bush and forest. Just above Lorne and we went back along the Great Ocean Road.

Travel tips - make sure you order the bed and breakfast option for yummy generous local goodies. Plan your meals, stop at supermarket or local butcher etc... Look up local Food & Wine Trail... lots to explore.

Beautiful and grand hotel. You feel very special staying here. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Reception area is opulent and impressive. The rooms don't let you down and are comfortable, spacious and well thought out.

Stayed with family and the kids loved it (especially the lift!).

Located at the top end (Paris / Parliament end) of Collins St. It is a short work down to the centre of Melbourne for shopping etc. Transport is at the door and you can find some unique eateries in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay here. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.

Fabulous with kids as there is a huge outdoor area with lagoon pool.

The location is great, it is just too easy - ample parking, coles supermarket and specialty shops in The Towers building. Short walk to beach, cavill Ave and you can come and go from the back or front of the hotel.

Stayed on a great package and really enjoyed this accommodation. Not super flash, but very family friendly and convenient.

Got lost first time driving here as GPS took us to the bottom end of Ferny. Just remember it is next to the Circle on Caville and watch out for their turn in area.

Convenient location with short walk to supermarket, shopping, restaurants and beach. For whatever reason, every time I have stayed here there has been some sort of major construction going on.

Look for discount packages when staying here, full price is a little over the top for what it is. Staff are friendly when you need them and rooms are adequate.

Enjoyed two meals here recently while staying on The Esplanade. Was a little apprehensive given the reviews from around the web, but I actually found dining here was pretty good.

Breakfast was good, corn fritters a little bland, but side portions moderately prices and generous. Really nice hollandaise sauce (always a bonus). Kids meals - good.

The menu system is really hard to follow, had planned to dine early with their 3-6PM tapas and also couldn't find the Sunday schnitzel special anywhere to be found. Had seen it displayed on Fri but not visible on the Sunday?

Website has a broken link in the top navigation "menu" - so if you are looking - go to: http://lot104.com.au/menu/ to find it, it will give you an idea.

Chicken sandwich on lunch menu was a winner. Service was pleasant but for some reason I felt I shouldn't ask about the confusion about menus - I encourage you to do so though. We just ordered whatever and were quite happy with selections.

Coffee is good! Be sure to ask what size coffee's are though. Breakfast & Lunch coffees were fine, but we also went back for an after dinner coffee and were served the smallest cups in the universe. LOL.

Found the atmosphere on the evening pleasant with some live street music going on.

Recommended - give it a try. The esplanade cafe businesses quality comes and goes and it is just a matter of whatever happens at the time, I guess.

This review is for The Big Banana, Coffs Harbour NSW

I always look forward to the first sighting of the big banana on a road trip. Remembering it how it was "back in the day", through my child eyes, it is really hard to understand what it has become today.

Ice skating? and other tourism activities that really do not relate to the area? What is the world coming to!...

I'll close my eyes and remember when the Big Banana meant BANANAs! Rides on the back of the plantation trucks, choosing the best bunch, the smell of the trees and the victorious feeling of arriving home with a magnificent hand of fresh bananas that would last for ages, make great banana fritters and give you something to barter with the "worm lady" so you could go fishing.

This review is for Clyde River Houseboats, Batemans Bay NSW

Batemans Bay holiday idea! Renting a houseboat to cruise the Clyde River is great fun. We hired a house boat with Clyde River Houseboats and had a great family time. There were about 3 families on the trip with kids of all ages, so we also had a land base up the river at Nelligan.

The tour / houseboat hire folks here were really helpful and after all their instruction, I think they only had to come and rescue us once (or was it twice!).

This was one of our most remembered family holidays and we just had a ball. Loved the feeling of quietly chugging along and discovering little beaches along the unspoilt river. We caught fish! swam and went ashore in a little dingy.

The houseboat was amazing like a floating self contained house. There were 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, full kitchen and lounge. With the deck set up with BBQ, esky and a bunch of supplies on board we had everything we needed.

At the base camp we set up a campfire and went ashore and the next day, just had a great time playing around on the river. Never will forget this, everyone had fun. First time on a river houseboat.

Highly recommended for groups and families, share costs to make it a super affordable alternative holiday!

Favourite place for the young mum's in our family. I personally don't like this place, but heck - anything to keep the majority of people (especially the little ones) happy.

Recommended for families with young families. Noise is good!

Fond memories of dining here with my kids. Sat outside on a sunny day and enjoyed a shared lunch. Quality of food was great (or we just starving hungry), loved the atmosphere here.

We had a great time - recommended, it's a great spot to grab lunch or a snack.
