I bought this tatami mat bed following my happy purchase of the futon mattress+bedding set. These are genuine Japanese products made with natural high quality materials and made with traditional methods. I really hate plastic/nylon/artificial rubbish so I am so happy. The tatami surface has a good "give" under the futon. It smells lovely (natural reedy scent) and the brocade is attractive. Assembly of frame was straightforward.
