Very professional outfit with highly qualified trainers. I think these guys have contracts with goverment (eg. training posties and police to ride motorcycles) so you know they have been quality tested.

Went here for my motorcycle pre-learners and learners permit. Found the quality of teaching and service to be a bit wanting on the permit. Trainer seemed unsure of his theory at times, and a but confused with his practise instructions. Infrastructure (portables etc) a bit sad. Helmets uncomfortable. Most concerning was that we spent huge chunks of the whole day learners training sitting around on long lunch or taking breaks....struck me as not terribly responsible use of time considering most of these students were going to be out on the road the next day. Meh.

If you are a union member you are eligible for services from Union Shopper. We have often used this for major purchases in situations where you can do your research and specify a model that you want (eg digital cameras, fridges.) You call them up and tell them the model you want and the best price that you have seen, and somehow - I have no idea how - theu always seem to be able to source it for you hundreds of dollars cheaper

Landscaping around house extension at my mum's place on the Penninsula. Extensive tidy and relaying of pavement - one week's work. They quoted for a week but ran out of time on the last days, resulting in a couple of extra labourers being put on without extra charge. We were very happy with the work done but it was a little rushed at the end.

Various paint jobs following major rennovation at my Mums place on the Penninsula. He is reluctant to provide a quote, but charges daily and says he works very hard - this is absolutley TRUE! He charges extra for the paint but is willing to use any paint you can provide. He works unobtrusively and efficiently

Cellar excavation and construction. Coordinated plumbers, reinforcers, council, cement very efficiently. He usually does swimming pools but also has experience in constucting cellars, which is very hard to find.

We have had many little jobs at my mum's house in Somerville. He was called in on short notice to correct a broken pipe which he did efficiently and cheerfully on a Saturday. Creative, effective solutions for wierd septic problems!
