We called in here to check the restaurant out as a function venue.

Food was good, service was good, the outside dining area looked perfect. We dined inside on this day, however.

Inside looked 'unfinished' / boring - perhaps due to the fire they had a few years ago - but the deal breaker for us was a visit to the bathrooms. Spider webs with spiders hung in corners, the toilet bowls were rust-stained, the cisterns dirty, the walls dirty, the basin dirty, kitchen towel was provided for wiping your hands after washing them. There wasn't enough room to get in and out of the cubicles without pushing against the bowl or the wall (I am a petite size 8 so no size issues usually).

We were told a wedding had been held there the night before and they were still getting over it.

Hopefully this business will find the funds to fix their main restaurant area and bathrooms as this is a perfect location, building site and idea for Port Elliot's growing tourist industry and the locals too.

Oh, our Churros were over cooked ... disappointing.

Staff are always friendly and patient here. Despite all the many many customers who come in, the staff there usually recognise me as a regular customer. (No, I'm not in there every day!)

There's a big choice of yummy foods here, even though it's not a large store.

I'm a bit disappointed that they don't do some of my old favourites anymore, but it just makes me try new things!

I wanted to get fit and someone suggested John of Flaunt it Fitness to me.

John's prices are in line with the recommended prices for Personal Trainers, but he also does pre-paid deals which saves you a lot and encourages you to not miss too many sessions (unless you have an excuse)!

John is a good guy, he wants you to reach your goals and he knows how to get you there. Of course, it's up to you to get there though, he's just your motivator!

John also does 'Boxing for Fitness' classes (he's a Punch Fit instructor) and does a monthly walk at a park, reserve, interesting places around Adelaide's suburbs. The Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty Summit walk is a favourite!

I have done training sessions in my backyard, down at the local school grounds, at a local park with a running track, and on cold & wet days, in my kitchen!!

I've done fitness boxing, cardio, weights, all sorts. John likes to mix it up to keep it interesting, which is great.

I haven't tried any other Personal Trainers, but I wouldn't change now.

This review is for Fasta Pasta, Brighton SA

09 Dec 2009

Have eaten at Fasta Pasta Brighton a couple of times (and just thinking about them now, I want to go eat there again!).
Last time we went, it was for my mum's birthday. They were VERY busy that day and very apologetic for slow service. We were not in a rush, so it was really ok with us. We got a discount on our coffees at the end of the meal for being such friendly customers... I suspect there were some impatient people voicing their opinions that day!
The Manager was on the floor cleaning up and taking orders along with his staff.
Their bathrooms are beautiful.
A bit noisy, but it is a cafe after all. Perhaps some soft furnishings or canvas art on the walls would help reduce this?

This is my main shopping store. The products are easy to find and the range is pretty good - though it used to be better before the Wow Select Range came in!
I do my major shop after work on a weeknight (it varies which night) and sometimes the staff levels are a bit too low for the quantity of people who do their shopping at that hour.
I am also finding that the staff are over-stuffing my reusable shopping bags, or putting too much weight in them, which they wouldn't have done with plastic bags (they would break!). I end up having to re-sort my shopping so I can carry it from the end of the register area into my trolley. Seriously, 8L of milk in one bag is too much!

I have been taking in my Bernina 830 (a 1970's machine) in to Janome for several years for servicing. They are always very friendly and their prices are very good.

I've always felt a bit uncomfortable going to a salon. The chairs are sometimes uncomfortable, the hairdressers are sometimes too chatty, or don't talk at all, etc, etc, etc.
Finally I have found a salon and hairdresser I am comfortable using.
I feel confident putting my hair in the hairdresser's hands, the chair is comfy, they don't try and sell you expensive product, but suggested certain brands to me and left it at that.
I had this done: Wash & condition, cut, blow dry & style.

This review is for House Of Jade, Sheidow Park SA

01 Dec 2009

We had a very nice dining experience at House of Jade.
The building looks terrible from the outside, so has always been a turn-off, but after hearing mixed reviews, we decided to try them.
The service was good. Mind you, we were one of four tables that night.
My partner said they make very good Special Fried Rice. My Honey Chicken was a little too fatty, not meaty enough, but still very tasty and the batter was CRUNCHY, unlike at some other restaurants.
The owner came over to check on our meals and to make sure we were happy with everything which was a nice touch.

I took my elderly and very fluffy cat Sean in for grooming. She doesn't let me near her with a brush normally, and she can't reach some areas anymore to groom herself. She is a prickly pear at the best of times.
The groomer complimented Sean on her beauty and temperament and said he didn't have any hassles with her. He gave me hints as to how to groom her myself without getting ripped to shreds too - and they work!
She looked and smelled gorgeous for a long time after her grooming date and I am using the hints he gave me to keep her groomed as best I can.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. They truly care about my pets and treat them well.
The vet always explain things in terms I can understand. They only offer medication when it's absolutely required.
My family have gone to this vet for over 25 years, and I have no wish to deal with anyone else.
My cat, now 16 years of age, requires more regular visits to the vet and just had a 3-day stay there on an iv-drip. They were quite happy for me to visit her after work even though it interrupted what they were doing.
I'll recommend this vet surgery to anyone.
