This review is for Zimt Patisserie, Mont Albert VIC

I've walked past Zimt a few times on my way to the station, but never went in before a couple of weeks ago. The presentation of the place certainly catches your eye. That said, that you do get the odd place that ends up being all style and no substance (The CBD is full of them), Zimt however turned out to be a real class act. Savoury and sweet frontiers were both great. Only issue being that the gingerbread was a little pricey. Props go out to the staff who were happy and keen to walk me through the inner workings of the food on display and let you know their favorites. I always like it patisseries and bakeries when you can look into the kitchen and see the chefs at work; Zimt's kitchen is right behind the dining area. Nicer still was the fact that every now and again I heard the Chefs bursting out with laughter, somehow the knowledge that the people making your food are enjoying themselves makes a place that much more inviting. It's like those cheesy bakers delight ads that you watch on television, except the real deal. I've noticed the place does get busy occasionally, it wasn't the day that I went, mind you, that's probably a good indication. Summing up: great place!

Approximate cost: $Around six dollars
