I'm classified as a chronic, difficult case.

One day a friend called me to suggest I go see her osteo, Paul. I already have 2 osteo's that I see. (This isn't strange, as while they come under the umbrella of osteopathy, they all work very differently.) I didn't need a third. But for some reason I rang him the next day, left a message, he called back within an hour or so, and I had an appointment booked for a few days later.

Paul does cranio-sacral and will manipulate the body if required and/or requested. He incorporates visualisation throughout the session and encourages you to get involved.

This is very powerful and deep work!

He works on a multi-dimensional level. What does this mean? He looks at the body wholistically incorporating the physical, mental, emotional, etherical/spiritual bodies into his treatment. Very powerful!

Paul's treatment is better suited to chronic cases.

I have done a lot of mental/emotional/physical work myself and so I responded very well to the treatment, particularly as I was not afraid to get involved. I continued with the visualisations between sessions and the changes were absolutely remarkable and staggering.

I have currently had 3 sessions within 4 wks. Paul did ask me back 1 wk after the first session to see if the treatment had held and then left further appointments up to me.

I love his philosophy. His aim is to heal people, not to manage symptoms and keep you coming back time and time again.

For me, I see Paul as a facilitator. He has unlocked my multi-D body. And I was supported in making the changes that were open to me.

Sounds wishy washy? I've always known that there is a connection between the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. But the changes in my physical body and my mental perception and attitude are HUGE!

Paul does 1hr sessions for $80. He works at a few different locations around Melbourne. Give him a call and have a chat. You can always say no.

Having mcs (multiple chemical sensitivity) I sometimes require the use of a mask. I was buying 'I Can Breath Masks' from the US, until they told me that there was now an Australian distributor. I was pleased to learn that Lucinda is local, VIC, and also a Building Biologist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner. She also stocks a range of healthy products - solutions! to today's highly chemical environment. A woman of many talents! Her email/newsletters are always entertaining and full of interest. And she is very prompt with orders and replies. If you're concerned about the toxicity of your environment I highly suggest getting in touch with this lovely woman. Thank you Lucinda :)

On an outing with a friend, we decided to take a scenic tour through Avenel, Longwood and Euroa. We knew there was a crystal shop in Longwood and, to be honest, we weren't expecting much. We were AMAZED! Set in an old house (take a jacket if the weather's cool), but well presented, each room is literally jam packed with gemstones/crystals/fossils/minerals. The museum pieces are interspersed throughout the rooms, along with the sale items - there's no difficulty identifying which is which ;) Maurie was there to greet us, a lovely man who is friendly and easy to talk to. He is a font of information and interesting to listen to. Crystals are his passion and he has travelled far and wide in search of his pieces and has good contacts as well.
There is also a tea-room and clean bathroom.
We're planning on going back soon as we hadn't realised what a serious business The Rockery is and so we hadn't brought our list of crystals that we're looking for. No problem, it was a lovely day with plenty to see and do :)
Crstyal shops seem to have been disappearing from Melbourne. We never expected to find the crowning glory of such shops out in a little country town!

Quality dining has returned once again to Yea. YAY! There were a few such dining venues, here, until recently... so it was a pleasure to see the style and flare return and with such great food :) Meals are generous, tasty and filling with fine tastes being tantalised. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink - really?? no, you HAVE to have a meal too! they're too good to pass! Service is excellent and friendly. Cafe, restaurant, bar - cozy, but not cramped, with a lounge to sit back and relax. We'll definitely be going again :) Thanks guys!

Having recently made a series of major changes to my diet I was thrilled to walk into Fare Enough and see fresh juice combinations, GF, vegetarian, plus produce for sale! Lunch was delicious, I had juice - apple, beetroot and ginger, it was perfect and a mediterranean tart with salad. Unusual for me, I was so ravenous and delighted with the range available I went back for seconds, LOL! I also ordered a hot chocolate, and was pleased to taste no added sugar, I think cacao was used as it wasn't bitter like cocoa, but definitely not sweet chocolate powder. yum Yum YUM!! The service was friendly and excellent. Will definitely be visiting again! Many thanks to the lovely Staff at Fare Enough :)

We'd been talking for months that we needed another rug, but just hadn't found the time to go looking. While at the Yarra Glen Stock and Feed we saw this rug shop and popped in. We knew what we wanted and so that was simple. Service was friendly, direct and knowledgeable. The first rug shown to us was what we chose, we didn't need to look at anything else. The price well, we really couldn't go past that! and this was a wool rug too. How come the price is so reasonable? Because they do their own overlocking/stitching on site. Lovely people, very easy to talk to. Nothing like supporting local business as well :) Many thanks, we're pleased with the rug, it's perfect, and the cat thinks so too ;)

This review is for Rhino Water Tanks, Melbourne VIC

When we first moved to the country and began building, one of the most important things for us was the water tank as we're not on town water. We researched thoroughly and were surprised at the variety of water tanks available, but very few companies will talk about the quality of water residing in the tank, once installed. This is where Rhino Tanks were different. They build steel tanks with a food grade polyethylene liner. This means no plastic taste or smell in your drinking water, even after a day of full sun heating it up.

I have mcs (multiple chemical sensitivity) and I try to avoid all chemicals, which in today's environment that's a very difficult and unlikely task. I don't like plastic, but I've been drinking water from our Rhino Tank for 4 years now and it has not made me ill or aggravated my mcs. I also have a water filter in the house which removes much of the sediment and particles from the water.

The tank had to be secure on a level gravel base and it has not moved at all in the time we've had it.

The staff at Rhino Water Tanks are very friendly and helpful. The man who installed our tank was also friendly, efficient and helpful. I can't remember the full cost, we also had extras such as a fire hose attachment etc.. It was more expensive than cheaper options, but really, health comes first and these are quality tanks.

I've been wanting to ride my horse bitless for a while now, and did the usual thing, went to the local horse shop and bought a bitless bridle. There didn't seem to be much more to it than that, other than learning how to ride in it and adjusting it to my big headed friend. Well, my boy has such a large head he didn't fit the bridle, even though I'd let it out to it's maximum length! So, I trundled back to the horse shop and they made me some longer cheek straps (and charged me a small fortune for it!!!) and away I went. Still more problems! It was cutting cruelly into his nose and he clearly hated it! What to do??? I made my own adjustments to soften the nose strap. No, he still hated the thing. What do I do??!!! LOL! What most people do these days! I jumped onto Facebook and asked my horsey friends for advice! And the advice poured in!!! There are so many different bitless bridles out there I became confused and still didn't know what to do.
So, I chose Cypress Lodge, as they're local (meaning same country and state) and I'd been told that they would custom make a halter to fit my boy. I emailed them and had a quick and friendly reply, both empathetic and informative. They sent me the info I needed to measure my horse and away I went. They didn't charge me extra for a custom made riding halter and reins, and even provided me with extra long reins for my big headed boy, again at no extra cost!!
Well, it doesn't stop there! The after sales support is excellent!!! We've had a few emails back and forth and they never get impatient, they're just happy to help in any way they can.
They also make other items such as lead ropes, quick release safety ties etc..
OK, how did my boy go with the Enduro halter? He was a much more relaxed and responsive horse! The difference was immediate! I still need to learn to be soft on the reins, but I actually find that easier with the Enduro. Being used to leather reins it will take a while to get used to the marine rope, but it does have a good feel and weight. I also use the Enduro as a halter and detach the reins and use them as a lead rope. But, I think I'll be looking at their lead ropes next... :)
I haven't ridden him down the road in it yet, I'll do that in a few days time. But, I have to say, he resents (a little) riding in HIS paddock, but it wasn't so bad in the Enduro, he just had a little attitude ;) and totally understandable too!
Well, I'm so impressed with this company that when my new horse arrives I'm going to be placing another order!
Many thanks to you both! Rob and Sharon! Your support and service is second to none.

Neways products have literally saved my life. I know this sounds a bit melodramatic, but hear me out first.
I have a condition called multiple chemical sensitivity (mcs for short), I have a chemical reaction to nearly everything chemical, even essential oils and they're natural!!
When I was first diagnosed, my body was so toxic and the reactions this caused so terrible I would've done away with myself if I hadn't found a solution. I learnt that 'fragrance free' is not truly fragrance free and that it simply has a masking agent to hide the smell, yes, more chemicals, not less. I was stressed with chemical overload and not knowing what to do about it. Or if anything could be done!
Neways came to the rescue with products that combine the best of nature and science in formulas that aim to reduce toxicity, benefit health and that of the environment. They are constantly looking to improve their products and reduce even more chemicals. To date they have a list of over 3000! chemicals that they do not use in their products!! and these products do work!
I initially started with personal care - deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo etc and some nutritional supplements. They gave me some measure of relief. We have since moved to the country and have become a Neways household and life is now manageable :)
They have products including car care, home care, nutrition and well being, aromatherapy (not for me, sadly), personal care, skin care and a cosmetic range. There is some scent in many of the products, but they don't affect me.
Unfortunately, these products are not available commercially, you need to go through a distributor or become a distributor yourself. The prices appear high, but I can tell you, these products are the highest quality and many are concentrates - meaning you only need to use a little, hence they last a long time. I'll give you an example; the washing detergent, me friendly!, I use a front loader and do 2-3 loads of washing a week. One packet of washing powder will last me about 1 year. There are similar stories and testimonials to be found or heard.
The support network is exceptional (particularly if you find a good team/distributor!) with training, education and community to be found - all optional of course!
Contact Neways to find a distributor near you.

This review is for Robert McCann-Saddle Fitter, Wandin North VIC

verified email - 23 Apr 2012

I first met Robert shortly after the purchase of my first horse. I was very inexperienced at the time and it was clear, even during a saddle fitting!! Robert was very calm, but also concerned that my horse was not suitable for me. Since then, he has fitted a few horses for me and now comes out every 6-12 mths to fit my current horse. He also fits the saddle on site so as to make sure you get the best possible fit.
What I like most is Robert's patience, not only with horses, but with my endless questions! lol! He is very happy to educate owners and I have learnt a lot from him. He's a very knowledgable man and it's an honour every time he comes out. I literally sponge up everything he says as it makes sense! is practical! and helps me to become a better horse owner!
Knowledge is power and Robert understands this, and is only too happy to share his advice, experience and knowledge.
He gives advice on anything horsey, from what to look for in a potential horse, to saddle blankets, saddles (of course) even checking out second hand saddles (from photo) which you may be considering purchasing. We've talked horse breeds and the difference between riding a trotter and a pacer, I could go on and on....! He is a very experienced man.
He's a qualified Master Saddler, UK and you can also find him listed on the ASFA website.
Cost for a fitting is determined by your location and what type of saddle (and how many!) you have to fit. Costs for me have ranged from $150 -$190.
I highly recommend him. If your horse is sluggish going downhill, or won't canter or will buck you while cantering, or is not moving as freely as usual, consider getting your saddle fitted.
