We travel to Townsville from the south frequently and I can honestly say the Motels in Mackay have dropped their standards dramatically over the last five years. Lack of food, courtesy, prices and cleanliness have all suffered because it is so easy for them to put up contract workers for the mines. This Motel was one of our favourites but is now so disappointing. Wake up Mackay.

This Motel needs a downturn in the mining industry to make it get it's service etc back on track. They are so sure of filling their rooms with mining contract workers they have forgotten the tourist industry and the PLEASANT courtesy needed. My advice, buck up.

For a while this business was not up to scratch but has picked up a lot, good to see as the owner is a hard worker. The hairdresser ther last time I went was spot on.

A long awaited store that is so far living up to expectations. To have a supermarket locally with such pleasant staff is great.

We often travel north and always stay at this excellent motel. The bloke in charge is always welcoming and service is great. The meals are good and not that rubbish they try and make you eat at those places that try and make out they can charge through the neck for weird meals. Everything is clean and tidy and the view is spectacular. We have tea and brekky there and it's great.

We have been going here for ages as they always seem to come up with what we need. The staff is knowledgable about the products and uses of them and that has been a big help when our daughters house was trashed. We have been in and out a lot recently and have spent differing amounts on all sorts of odds and bods. Comes highly recommended

Hey, 6 months ago I wouldn't go in here, boxes all over the floor, staff all looking busy but not serving; What a difference now. Helpful and served in no time. I'll definitely go back now. Did not have what I wanted that day but could not hane been more helpful. What I wanted was very hard to get, ended up improvising anyway.

On this specific occasion they could not supply what was needed but were very helpful in telling us who and where to get the object. On other occasions they have been excellent.

Our house was trashed and the staff could not have been more helpful in every department. A one help.

This hairdresser started off really great but has gone down over the past year or so. Like most of us I prefer the same hairdresser each trip and don't like being fobed off to new employees you don't know. Another thing is constant interuptions, either phone calls or someone popping in; very annoying. seems to be trying to yuppyise.
