I have always found Westpac staff to be friendly and this time was no exception. The lady was lovely and made conversation while we went through the process of getting contents insurance, which would have been very boring otherwise. She even suggested a more suitable savings account which was sorted out on the spot. The policy itself seems good value, with no extra charge for paying monthly and optional personal valuables cover that covers theft and accidental loss or damage of your items, in or out of the house. This was a must for me as I have a tendency to drop or damage items, my phone especially, and it was great to know that I can be covered for my clumsiness. I would definitely recommend Westpac insurance
This bakery is delicious. All of the food is of good quality, even the simple items like the donuts are great. Their prices aren't that much more than the average bakery, except for the bigger items such as cakes. For a nice family morning or afternoon tea, my absolute favourite is the cherry bun, though the apple loaf is nearly as nice. The place to go for a nice bakery treat.
The Prickly Cactus is the first mexican restaurant that i've been to, and I was pleasantly surprised. They had a good range of dishes, more than just what i'd think of as classically mexican. I shared a make-your-own beef and prawn burrito dish, and you could tell how fresh the ingredients were, and well cooked. The waiter even noticed that my boyfriend and I were sharing and offered us some extra wraps. Although I did not order one, I have heard of the huge fish-bowl cocktails they make, which I will definitely have to try sometime. Highly recommended.
After being taken here by my mother, I will definitely go again. Having quite a sweet tooth, I just couldn't go past the sweet muffins, although they had a nice looking cafe menu. The muffins are very large, two decent size servings. As well as having the normal flavours, raspberry and white chocolate, blueberry etc. they have specials, which when I went was jersey caramel. Thats what I picked, and it was fresh, sweet but not too sweet, delicious, a real treat. I look forward to seeing what they have next time I go.
The lady I had was extremely friendly and we had a great talk, which made for a good experience. I only needed a trim and thinning and so the basic price was decent and cheaper than anywhere else I could find. I would definitely go there again if I was out that way
Approximate cost: $22
Just thinking about pizza capers makes my mouth water. Delicious pizza made with fresh, good quality ingredients. They don't skimp on the toppings, and they're always cooked to perfection. They have toppings that I've never seen at another pizza store, I didn't think I'd like potato on pizza, but everything on their pizzas go together beautifully. They can get pretty busy, but they have a tv screen so you can keep track of how long things will be, and its always within a reasonable time. Very highly reccommended
MONA is certainly the most interesting museum I've ever been to. Its quite large, a couple of stories, and some of the works of art were certainly out there. It wasn't as good as I was expecting, but I've never been that into art, and I'm still glad I went. Plus they do change the exhibitions, so I piece I wanted to see wasn't there. I reccommend to everyone to check it out, definitely Tasmanians, as we get in free.
Tasmania zoo may not be anywhere as big as a mainland zoo, but I still love it. They have a decent range of animals, birds, monkeys, reptiles, and the natives like emus, wallabies, and Tasmanian devils. If you go on there expecting it to be like mainland zoos, you will be disappointed, but if you take it for what it is, a small rural zoo, you should still enjoy it and the animals like I do.
This place is always busy, every time I walk past, but it didn't take very long to get served. The food was nice, nothing amazing but the prices were decent. The bread rolls were especially nice, and I liked that they were of a smaller size, good to have as a side with soup etc. all in all, I'll definitely go there again
Flip burgers are a good mix of quality and price. All burgers I've tried have been delicious, and they have a large range from the traditional to the very fancy. They also have two sizes of burgers which would be handy for the smaller appetite. You get your food pretty quickly, even when busy the wait isn't too bad. Overall they're nothing amazing but if you're looking for a burger at a reasonable cost, go there.
