This review is for MLB Removals, Cheltenham VIC

We booked MLB removals for a short 10km move to a new property. We booked because they seem to have robust guarantees in place for damage to anything being moved. When booking, they were responsive, and easy to deal with.
On the day of the move, things were far less easy. They were about 4 hours late (frustrating when you have elevators booked in building etc). They did not communicate this at all, I have to chase them up.
The 2 guys arrived, and were friendly, but clearly not experienced in moving. One was a backpacker who just had the job to make money.
We had paid for the "Premium Protection Package" which offered shrink wrapping and additional blankets for items being moved. This service was not provided. Numerous time we had to ask items to be handled more carefully, not be pulled, pushed and dragged along various surfaces (Concrete, carpet and concrete stairs).
Due to the mishandling, our expensive sofa has been damaged. I had a great deal of trouble contacting MLB to try and resolve the issue (couldn't get through on the phone, no response to emails, no response to messages on social media). Only after I wrote a message on a public forum did they respond, ask me to remove it, and say someone would be in touch.
Someone did finally get back to me (which took about 3 weeks). They offered $50 to resolve the issue, which of course was not at all reasonable. They said that would cover the cost of the "premium protection package". I responded to let them know that was not adequate (each time an email is sent to them it takes around 3 days for them to respond, so this has been a VERY long process). After attempting to say I did not read the terms and conditions (which I have, and have met each one of them), they have come back to say that $100 is their final offer.
I am now going to the ACCC, and WOULD NEVER recommend they be used for moving anything. Avoid at all costs. Terrible.

Approximate cost: $450
