What a fantastic restaurant!

My partner and I both agree that it is by far the nicest quality food and service we have experienced in any Japanese restaurant (if not any restaurant overall). The interior is beautifully yet simply decorated and the furniture is all comfortable. The service is welcoming and always friendly - not at all intimidating or snobbish as in some businesses.

Last night was our first experience with Asahi, but it definitely won't be the last! We tried the kani croquette and agedashi tofu for entree, moriawase (sushi and sashimi selection) and tempura prawns with wasabi mayonnaise for mains and both the green tea and black sesame ice cream for dessert.

Every dish was wonderfully presented, from the arrangement of the meal itself to the dishes they were served on.

The Japanese beer and sake is a different and very satisfying addition to the menu, and I would recommend it to anybody who is yet to experience it.

I can't wait to come back for more - the wonderful food and exquisite service far surpassed my expectations and I could not be more pleased.

Sushiyama was one of my first experiences with sushi, and it has remained among the best.

I have eaten a lot of sushi since I first discovered it, and theirs is still at the top of my list. The food is always spectacularly presented, wonderfully fresh and absolutely delicious. The chef prepares the food in front of you, so you can see how carefully and hygienically every process is done.

The staff at Sushiyama are clear sushi lovers who take pride in what they do. The service is always speedy and friendly and the food is very well priced, especially considering that there is no competition whatsoever in the immediate area.

The only real negative I could possibly find with Sushiyama is the shortage of available seating which is not really anything to complain about since it is a small, express store and more directed at people looking for a takeaway meal (though 99% of the time you are able to eat in, and I always do).

Highly recommended - I've yet to taste better sushi than that at Sushiyama.
