After waiting for over a month for my laptop to be repaired, I tried again to get an update on the phone, as they "are too busy to (bother) updating the ticket tracking system", and as they don't reply to emails.

I was told that their parts supplier has sent the wrong replacement part 3 times and was now claiming that the part would now have to be sourced from overseas (which is were most parts laptop parts come from) which would "take a couple of days" (laptop was dropped in on the 23rd of May) and the supplier was waiting on instructions from Fixspot on how to proceed......

I asked Fixspot why I wasn't informed of this and I was told that Fixspot don't call the customer "just" to give updates on the "lack" of progress of the repairs. (Might be a cultural thing about "loosing face" and appearing to have failed, but even bad news is better than no news.)

I have found out that the people who answer the phone can't answer any questions (apart from telling you if your repairs have been done), only the technician can talk about any problems/issues BUT the technician are not ALLOWED to talk to the customers. This was after I was told that the technician would call me between 4:30 to 5pm, or is only in after midday, or is not currently in the Swanston street office and he can't call me directly from the other site. And never be tricked by the promise of the technician sending you an email to answer your questions. (Due to the fact that the wrong part was being sent to Fixspot, I asked for the part number for the replacement fan, to double check that due to a typo, the wrong part wasn't being ordered. I was promised that the technician would send the details plus an idea how long it would take for their suppler to have the fan sent from overseas. - and I'm still waiting for the details.)

I asked why they couldn't source the replacement part from another supplier and was told that they only had the one supplier and can't go anywhere else for the part. So, that's why it's not Fixspot's fault. They choose to continue to use a supplier that sends the wrong part and is now "forced" to get the part from overseas.

If this looks like a bad review, it's just a reflection of what's happened to me. I hope this is of some help to others in picking a repair service.
