Great coffee (Merlos) and great breakfasts at this cafe in Gumdale. Eating in is great but even their toast to take away tastes better than toast usually does and don't even get me started on their bacon and egg sandwiches on toast - they are loaded with really good quality bacon and they'll do it crispy for you if you ask them. NB in some reviews the suburb location is given as Wakerley :-)
Best IGA I have ever been in. Great selection of products - both upmarket and everyday. Nice deli. Place is clean as a whistle (ie does not have that smell of faintly rotting fruit & veg you often get). Pleasure to shop there :-)
Seriously good coffee and tasty food. Some truth to review below that service could be better but to me this is in terms of their efficiency and not their welcome. A tightening up of their procedures should sort out any probs. What I really like about this please is that the serving team are friendly, not snooty and not usually too busy to give you a smile and pass the time of day.
Fantastic food. If you are from the UK you will love the curries and food from here. Try the Keema Bhuna and Korma here actually tastes like a Korma should. Even better they serve chips (hot) too :-). Great to sit outside on a nice evening too.
A real British fish and chip shop!!!!!! Yeee Haaa!!!!!
The real deal, tastes like fish and chips from home. Love it, well done.
Only thing I would say is I think you can have the taste of fish and chips AND use some Australian fish so that you can offer a slightly cheaper option.
The best cup of coffee (Campos brand) I have ever had. Even better it's served, if you wish, in one of those bowls without handles that makes you feel like you are sitting at a pavement cafe in Paris. Lovely. Also a really interesting menu so the place is clearly trying to be a cut above the run of the mill places around these parts. I think it's succeeding but it really needs to keep it's standards up - I want the best for this place as this area needs great, cafes who care about the food. That said I've been once for breakfast and had the best scrambled eggs ever, then went today and had a pretty ordinary Eggs Benedict (not soft eggs, home made but almost non existent Hollandaise Sauce). Also the funky, large table in the middle of the cafe had been replaced today by outdoor tables that really brought down the look of the place - but this could have been just a rainy day necessity (I hope so). Please keep up the great standards you started with Refuelled :-)

This shop is just such a quiet, unassuming class act. The cakes and breads are just to-die-for. I can't praise it highly enough. Even better they recently opened a cafe 3 shops up that does the best coffee ever so check out `Refuelled'. So you can eat the cafe food or take in your BitterSweet cakes into the cafe to have with your coffee :-)
Approximate cost: $3-$5 upwards
TLC is a great book shop. You can tell that the owner and staff really love books and want to encourage reading. It's a great shop to browse in, or to have a chat about books with the staff. It's not the same old selection you get in every other book shop. They have a teen book club and did have a kid's story-time at one book. Can't rate it highly enough as a great shopping and book shop experience

5 star experience whenever I go and I've been coming since the salon first opened. A real class act. This is really my one beauty indulgence when I am on a tight budget - out go the salon facials but I will never give up having my brows done every 6 weeks or so here because the effect is like a mini face lift :-)
