i stayed here with mates when they came down from Melbourne, very nice self contained rooms they were very clean and weren't to expensive. comfy beds and easy located not too far from town.
my partner took me hto mason's when they first opened and i loved it! very fancy place to eat without the snobby feeling you get sometimes when you are in a really fine dining restaurant. the food was amazing and the staff were so good and friendly! we had an amazing nice, great atmosphere!
the bendigo market is sometimes really good and other times pretty crap. it just depends on what stalls are there for te day but it is always worth a little wander in the sun. we try to go every weekend to get the local turkish bread from one of the stalls inside as its the best in bendigo! and the hot potato man is always the highlight with the best jacket potatoes in town!
i am not a fan and i dont go to the one in pall mall anymore due to rude service and they are always so flat out, being short i noticed they seem to serve whoever pushes through first. they have a good range but i think the prices are too high.
cheap entry prices and since they renovated a year or so ago this pool is awesome, grassey areas and multiple pools. we had my sisters birthday party here as they let us book a table near the bbq under the shade and only charged us normal for each child and they also let us bring in a cake for her to. very impressed!
the dragon museum is great for learning about the history and has many things to explore. sometimes i have found the staff to be a bit rude, i took my sister in as she wanted to feed the fish in the garden but not go in the museum but the lady at the desk said we'd have to pay entry for both of us to the museum even if we wern't going in otherwise we could buy a 10 times pass each to go in to feed the fish in the garden but we didnt want to go in 10 times and i found it disgusting that you cant just pay like $5 to go into the garden part with the kids and feed the fish.
the bendigo library is amazing! they have such a selection and are always happy to help you find anything. Its so easy ti hire books or use the computers for free. they also let you hire movies for free which is great! my little sister loves to go to the library and she always asks to go on the weekend atleast once. they have done a wonderful job in setting up in the new building since its just temporary.
i went to bendigo pottery in the school holidays! it was actually pretty fun, exploring the gallery and also you can have a turn yourself which is awesome fun! a bit expensive but definitely worth it! a friend also got married here a few months ago and it was so lovely. they definitely outdone themselves!
my mum and i take my little sister here sometimes, she loves going but it is a bit expensive if you have more then 1 child. she wanted a party there but we decided it was too expensive with the food packs being quite expensive and she didn't want as many kids as they said needed to be the minimum. overall its a good place to go every now and then but definitely not an every weekend kind of place.
when my dad used to live in a different town he used to come and stay here for like a week at a time so he could have us kids visit and the people were always friendly and the park was clean. he didnt seem to mind it so i doubt it was too expensive. we always thought it was a really fun place to stay.
