This review is for Peel Health Care, Tamworth NSW

This surgery has a conglomerate of doctors, so if you can't see your own, you can oftentimes see another. Although sometimes you have to wait a week or two, sometimes up to three weeks for an appointment, Peel Health Care has its own nursing bay with duty doctor and if you're in urgent need of medical care, you can generally see a sister straight away or within 24-48 hours; who will oftentimes get the duty doctor to tend you, if needed. This nursing bay also tend to basic injections, pap smears, dressing changes etc., which takes the strain off the doctors' waiting lists.

The nurses and doctors are proficient, efficient and friendly, as are the reception staff.

Doctors don't rush you through, listen attentively and follow-up readily with a phonecall in the event of test results needing further investigation.

Bulk billing available in some cases, with certain doctors.

Comfortable seating, with outdoor benches, a taxi bay at the door and ample facility parking. A small cafe/kiosk across the way if you need a munch. Clean interior public toilets. A hop, skip and jump, across the highway to Northgate Shopping Centre, Coles and chemist.

The only downside of this surgery really is access if arriving/departing on foot or via public transport (bus) - the highway one must cross is terribly hazardous, the traffic fast and prolific - and there is no pedestrian crossing.

Apart from that, a great practice to be with.

I would be lost without Trading Post. There is nothing negative to say about this site. Look - and you will likely find what you are needing to buy! Good for selling too.

This review is for Sheila's Depilex, Tamworth NSW

I had my very first leg wax in Sheila's Depilex so many many years ago and have gone there ever since for all my beauty treatments. It's a cozy little beautician, clean, efficient, fast service and you can just walk in - no appointment necessary.

The girls are friendly and Sheila herself is down to earth and simply fabulous.

Years ago my gran used to go there to get a lip wax - she didn't need it and the girls didn't want to rip her off so told her she didn't need it; but we told them to do it anyway if she asked - and they did - and gave her the full royal treatment, but only for half price because she was such a good customer!

They were the bright spot in my Grans 'social calendar' and every week she would walk out of there feeling like the Queen herself!

Thank you Sheila's Depilex.

This review is for Ride! Motorcycles, Tamworth NSW

The gentlemen at Ride! Morocycles are attentive, patient and don't treat a lady like an idiot. I really appreciated the service and advice I received here. They are willing to do a deal and were happy for me to laybye a brand new scooter! With all the trimmings, drive-away these nifty little cruisers cost only $2000-$2500. Fantastic for a learner! Why buy a second hand bomb car when you can buy a brand new scooter for cheaper and be on the road, on your own, straight away!

This review is for Rex Motors, Tamworth NSW

Rex Motors are a friendly bunch, efficient and non-judgemental; good business in a not so good part of town, who treats every customer equally. They give quality service with a friendly smile. A good one stop spot if travelling into or out of town; basic groceries, hot food - cooked fresh to order, cool drinks, magazines, newspapers, chips, furl ,of course.

The only place in Tamworth I know of where you can still get a good old fashioned white paper bag of mixed lollies of your choosing for any amount of change from a great assortment of jars - a walk back to childhood!

This review is for Woodleys Motors, Tamworth NSW

I love that Woodleys motors is a multi generation family run, local business. Their attitude is great and they will do a good deal on a trade-in. They have a good range of second-hand trades in on the opposite side of the street as a result of their trade in scheme, which is handy for first time buyers/students etc. They say they trade anything; I'm bearing it in mind for when my other half gets too much to bear!

This review is for Crust & Cream, Tamworth NSW

verified email - 01 Jun 2012

Crust & Cream have great pies & fresh buns. They make fresh croissants and excellent iced chelsea buns. Most things are well priced and they often have fresh cob or vienna loaves on special for $1. Their custard pies are perfect, and their fresh cream buns are huge and satisfyingly delicious!

The girls are always friendly, efficient and happy to serve.

Very convenient for a quick grab if you're passing through the Shopping Village arcade or in that part of town.

This review is for The Cheesecake Shop, Tamworth NSW

If you love rich, creamy, decadent, gourmet cakes, this is the place for you. They have a great range of cakes and you can buy whole, half or slices of cake. You will not need a whole one, I guarantee you!! These cakes are a little too rich and too sweet for my palette, but excellent quality and if that's what you love you won't be disappointed. You certainly get what you pay for and the service is friendly.

This review is for Markers Cake Shop, Tamworth NSW

verified email - 01 Jun 2012

Markers is a good place to grab a quick lunch. They sell pies, sausage rolls, pasties and have a great range of pre-made rolls & sandwiches. Their fresh buns & bread are good & I love their chicken salad wraps. The only negative i have to say is almost everytime I eat a meat-pie there, I usually end up with slight deli-belly next day.

One or two of the ladies there are very pleasant, but a few are also quite surly and 'go through' the motions.

I only go there out of convenience really, and wouldn't go out of my way over and above an alternative for lunch. No major complaints however.
