Mike Cannon is more concerned about his ego than the welfare of an animal. Refused to see a mutilating, bleeding bird (that he had seen before) because I had 'taken it to a different vet' despite being told
1) that the birds' regular vet is overseas for weeks
2) that I live in Sydney so it would be illogical for me to use him as a regular vet
3) that when he had previously seen this bird he had only done a bandage change, and that all surgeries and blood tests had always been done by his regular vet.
Argued with everything I said, tried telling me I should never have taken the collar off that he put on. Another lie - the Sydney vet put the collar on. He attempted to 'add' to the collar by wrapping vet wrap around the birds throat which constricted his breathing and needed to be removed shortly after coming home. Tried to backtrack saying 'well I adjusted the collar for you'... this was his best reasoning for not treating a bird with blood rolling down its leg.
My bird was clearly in pain and requiring stitches but Mike tried dispensing a lecture telling me things he assumed I was doing incorrectly (all of which was completely wrong, egotistic and cynical). When asked 'so you can't do a bangage change for him at very least?' he threw his hands in the air and said (WORD FOR WORD) 'I can't help this animal, you need to pick a vet and stick with it.'

Thanks Mike, now my pet will suffer for 2 weeks until his regular vet returns.

Poor excuse for an avian certified vet let alone an animal healthcare professional

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU WANT A RESPECTABLE AND CARING VET.
