I was beyond disappointed with the set up of this venue. Whilst I understand the importance of safety for the animals and young children I was disgusted to see that almost all the enclosures were fenced to the point a young child (aged 5) could not see in without an adult lifting them. The penguin enclosure had rancid water, and the staff were not very welcoming. We were charged for our infant son who was 18 months at the time simply because he looked older than 2. I will not be returning nor will i be recommending it to friends.
We have only ever stopped here at lunch time, the menu is a lot smaller than we had anticipated and prices were on the higher end of the scale. The meals were tasty and well presented but I'm not entirely sure its enough to warrant the price we paid
The Star Bar offers a great dining menu utalising some of Tasmania's best produce. I especially like their woodfire pizzas, they give you the authentic wood fire pizza flavor without burning it. Prices are fair given whats on offer. The later you dine in the evening the more likely you are to encounter the pub patrons, which can mean a crowded dining experience and louder. The Star bar provides great local music entertainment on the weekend and fairly priced drinks.
Hullaballoo has an extensive range of party supply items, they are more than happy to help with arrangements for special occasions. They seem to have everything for any event you can think of. Prices vary from affordable to sometimes overpriced depending on what your looking for
Parking can be an absolute nightmare given they are located in a busy section of Charles street. The burgers are cooked to order and sometimes you can be waiting up to 30 minutes depending on how busy they are but staff have always told me prior to ordering and paying. The burgers are more than enough to keep you satisfied, the chips are amazing and the selection of sauces is incredible.
Dynasty provide a very authentic dining experience, the restaurant is very spacious and well maintained. Staff are very attentive and provide excellent service. Meals are as described on the menu but unfortunately it can be a costly dining experience. They offer a pleasant dine in experience but they also offer a fast take away service.
I have had lunch here on a few occasions, they provide an average pub meal, nothing too amazing and the venue is starting to like tired. Staff are friendly but give priority to gaming and bar patrons and are less attentive to diners.
Mud appears to have had a revamp lately, they often have a mothers group in during the day and staff are more than accommodating for the extra noise made by the young patrons. Meals are exceptional, they are delicious and well presented. Drinks are affordable and the general lay out is welcoming
Food is amazingly fresh and they have by far the best selection for their potatoes, they are always more than enough and full of great flavor. There is limited seating but even though you are in the CBD your far enough away that you don't have the the foot traffic.
Incredible pancakes both savory and sweet, I do find the stairs aren't amazingly friendly for all patrons, taking my pregnant wife was probably not the best idea but she did enjoy her craving for pancakes. You do pay a little more here than other places offering pancakes but it is most certainly the best quality you will find in Launceston
