Cosy combination second-hand book shop and cafe. Eclectic seating amongst the bookshelves at different shaped tables with mismatched chairs, sofas. Great vibe and good food. Interesting variety of cakes, tarts and other yummy things.
My favourite burger place! Try the Vege Burger, it's outstanding. Many varieties of chicken, beef, lamb to try, and don't forget the chips. The chips are awesome! Staff are friendly, the place is spotless and all the food is made on-site.

There are just a few tables available and the decor is basic. The food however is great and very good value, especially at the moment as there is a 10 year anniversary special - all dishes $9.00! They were very busy with take-out orders while we were there.
Family-run this small restaurant always smells delicious! Menu is standard Thai fare but food is fresh and flavoursome. Service is effiecient and friendly - the last time I visited my dinner was brought to the table by a very proud small boy who was obviously helping his Mum. They make an excellent Pad See Yeow.
Great coffee! Not surprising seeing as this is also where they roast and wholesale the coffee. Buy some to take home - whole beans or ground to order, also specilaist breads and organis chocolate. Take your chances at finding a table during busy times - breakfast, mid-morning and lunch time, but well worth the effort. Food is simple and delicious.
This must be the closest thing to ice cream heaven! So many flavours it's difficlut to choose. You simply can't go past the yoghurt & Caramel, or chocolate sorbet. Yum!
A tiny salon one road back from Oxford Street, this is a rare find! Just one client is scheduled at any one time. The service is personal, friendly, efficient and such good value. I've always had difficulty finding someone who knows how to style cut my fine short hair, but now I have.
What character - sandstone walls and cosy atmosphere. The owner sometimes wear a kilt! The coffee is excellent, organic fair trade only. The food is really good although the menu is quite small.
An unassuming place with extraordinary cakes - individual servings or whole cakes! The variety is huge and the speciality is French pattiserie. You can eat in (the coffee is good too), or buy to take home. Everything is fresh. The last time I was there I noticed they also make savoury pies, now that's another good reason to go back!
I like the fact that Tropicana is always busy. The menu is vast and all meals are available all day, so if eggs and toast for lunch or pasta for breakfast is your preference, this is served with no fuss. It is a great place for seeing and being seen. My favourite is the Chicken salad - light tasy and filling!
