ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED AND UPSET WITH MY MOVE.

Removalists were 2 and a ½ hours late. I booked them in for a 10.00am arrival, and they didn’t show until 12.30pm. I was on a tight timeframe. It was an absolute nightmare even trying to reach anyone on the 1300 number to find out what was going on. Eventually when I did get through, after numerous attempts, I was told they were only 10 minutes away, After 20 minutes they still hadn’t shown up, so I called back again and was told the same thing, that they were 10 minutes away. This scenario went on over a two hour period with me being completely stressed out of my mind and in tears. As if moving house isn’t stressful enough without being given the run around by the removalists. When they finally showed up, I didn’t even get an apology or even an explanation as to why they were late. The younger guy was okay, but the older, overweight guy came across as rude and disrespectful. He didn’t even say a word to me the whole time and gave me dirty looks. He also struggled with walking up the stairs, and I also watched him taking my belongings down the stairs on the trolley, and he was rough as guts. I knew right there and then, that my furniture was going to be damaged. Clearly he shouldn’t be in this kind of job. He was awful.

The move was from a 1 x bedroom apartment to another 1 x bedroom apartment, and it took them 2 hours to load up the truck with my belongings. I have moved quite a bit over the years, and speaking from past experience, this should’ve only taken them about an hour – and hour and a half tops. Then the older bloke was clearly starting to struggle, so he stayed downstairs by the truck for the majority of the time while the younger guy did most of the work. I even jumped in and helped by taking boxes and small items of furniture that I could carry myself down to the truck. I had to end up telling them to get a move on as it was taking too long, so therefore not everything got packed into the truck. I had to end up finishing off the move all by myself doing several car loads back and forth of my boxes. I am a single, 48 year old female, so this was not ideal for me.

When we arrived at the new apartment, the older guy again stayed downstairs by the truck (new place had a lift, so he would’ve been fine). When my furniture was moved inside the apartment, I straight away noticed 4 dents in the door of my fridge which were not there before. I pointed this out to the younger guy, and he just said that the dents were probably there from before…..The dents were NOT there from before. My fridge is only 2 years old and was like brand new without any scratches or dents. My TV unit was scratched and the leg to my bedside table was damaged, which also were not like that from before. They also scratched the kitchen floor in my new apartment when moving the fridge into place.

Then at the end of the move, I was overcharged. The move ended up taking 4 hours in total and I was charged for 5 hours. Because I was so stressed out by these guys, I didn’t realise at first that I had been overcharged. I have now been trying to chase this up for the last 10 days to be reimbursed and compensated for the damage and inconvenience caused, and no one will return my phone calls or emails. When I do eventually get through to someone I just get told that someone will call me back later that day, and no one does.

I have also moved from one side of the country to the other (Perth to Sydney) with another removalist company, and they were absolutely flawless. MyMoovers only had to go 6km’s from Bondi to Kensington and it was the most stressful move I have ever had to deal with. [Removed comment]
