When my fiancee (now wife) began to look for our wedding celebrant, she had some requirements in mind. The celebrant had to be able to speak not only English but also Mandarin and Cantonese. While there are a number of celebrants that matched that particular criteria in Melbourne (and we interviewed a few), we were most at ease with Mona from the get go. She was the friend that understood our sense of humour (and there were moments in our first WhatsApp call where I laughed to the point where it almost turned to tears), she listened to what we wanted for our ceremony, and she was honest in what she was able to do and not do. Come the wedding day, her service was exemplary. She engaged well with those who attended the ceremony as well as including those who were watching the live broadcast online. Her delivery of the readings that we and our friends provided her was done so well, that there were instances where makeup applied by professional MUAs began to be undone (fortunately she warned the bride beforehand). There probably needs to be a benchmark test for all Makeup Artists to meet prior to a Mona Chung-Chao ceremony!
