When our meals arrived they looked fantastic as you can see by the photos. The serving size was great too, I detest paying heaps for a minuscule meal because the restaurant believes that you should be eating three courses. The duck consisted of duck breast, shredded confit duck leg , potato fondant (which I really need to learn how to make) poached pear, with red cabbage and cherry jus. It was sensational – perfectly cooked to medium, tender, gorgeous accompaniments, everything just worked. Paired with the beautiful pinot noir I savoured every bite, eating leisurely, the way we are meant to eat. The steak was perfectly cooked as well and the mashed potato creamy and smooth in the way that only a commercial kitchen manages to achieve. I used to love this place years ago but it has really fallen apart in the service department and decor. The menu is still good as are the chefs cooking it but the front of house staff just let the place down. The last time I went with a friend and two toddlers and we were made to feel very uncomfortable. I hope they sort this out as it is the perfect location for a great cafe.
