Hidden gem on the Coast.

They have a huge range of hot pies and sausage rolls, loaves of bread, bread rolls, pastries, savoury food, family size cakes, birthday cakes, small cakes. Plus you can order pretty much anything the day before. I've ordered about 100 rolls for a birthday party the day before and it was no problem.

The thing that I like is that literally everything is baked from scratch on premises. From the bread to the pies to the cakes. The bread is always so fresh and comes out of the oven all day long, you can watch the staff cut it, or grab it hot.

Friendly staff too. I've chatted to the new head baker/owner himself who is always around - he's been really helpful and chatty and will tell you about the baking process, ingredients, and anything you need to know. He seems to be very passionate and does all the baking himself, and he told me he only uses the minimum number of ingredients in his bread (no preservatives, sugar, fats, anything bad. I've heard some bakeries can be pretty lax on these things and cut corners if the boss isn't around, LOL).

The prices are insanely cheap, nearly half the price for cakes and pies compared to speciality and chain bakeries. $2.20 for a massive sausage roll, $5.00 for a freshly baked family size sponge cake, $2.50 for big eclairs with fresh cream, etc etc. I reckon they'll go up sometime but must be so low because of the area and the old building. Not a fancy place at all, but good food.
