I had dealings with Glen Funerals back in February when a very dear friends husband died, both her and her daughter were too distraught to deal with it so I offered to step in and they gratefully accepted. Initially, I sought Glen Funerals because not only were they the cheapest quote I got over the phone, but they were caring from the word go. There was a real genuineness about the caring too, not just a job caring. Let me say they were marvelous. For personal reasons my friend wanted her husband cremated the following day and Glen Funerals moved heaven and earth to make that happen. Their website says "caring and respectful, respecting faiths and cultures" , this is truly a business that lives up to what it claims. I know who I'll be turning to in the future should the need arise again that's for sure.

Twenty two years ago I learnt to drive with Hi-Way, two years ago my eldest son leant to drive with them and now my youngest is learning with them too. Their caring, patient instructors are second to none. Male and female instructors are available in both manual and automatic cars. They are very flexible with their appointment times offering out of hours appointments and your booking frequency is your choice.

Extensive range of products, better than the average newsagent. Can't find it? Ask the staff...if it's not on the shelf they are usually happy to order it in for you. They have some great little gifts too and a good range of books in the chuckout basket down the back.

Psarakos Market is a little treasure in the heart of Bundoora. The deli, in particular, is fantastic. The girls are friendly and make a point of remembering just how I like my meats and cheeses sliced. They have an extensive fruit n veg department as well as general grocery items. Their liquor store is a one stop shop too....local and imported beers and spirits are readily available at very reasonable prices. Mind the trolleys though, some of them need more than a little tlc. I lived in this area for years before I finally decided to give Psarakos a try. Waiting so long to try it was my loss. Psarakos is indeed a local treasure.

From recharging with a cuppa to a quick feed to a leisurely feast with friends, Degani at South Morang wont disappoint. The food is fresh and plentiful. Big menu choices too. Staff are friendly and willing to please. I have been to other Degani's before, but this one is definitely my favourite. That was then, this is now. I have since written another review, am sorely disappointed in this business and will now no longer return.

If you live with a bunch of carnivores like I do then you really need to pay a visit to The Big Butcher. Great variety, great quality and better than great prices. We're on a tight budget like most people. The Big Butcher makes shopping for meat far more affordable than anywhere else I've shopped. You name it, they have it in small quantities and bulk. Try them, you wont be disappointed.

I stumbled across this business via a radio advertisement many years ago. I rang for a trial pack and have been purchasing from them ever since. They offer free home delivery and a monthly account which makes buying pet supplies very convenient. I purchase all my dog and duck products from here.

I was hungry but wanted something guilt free and stumbled across Sumo Salad in the food court. Talk about excellent value for money! I love a good salad and can be a little picky being a self appointed salad connoisseur. This place did not let me down. I ordered the Grilled Chicken low GI salad, trying to be extra good, and it's one of the nicest salads I've ever eaten. I've now gone back there a couple of times since and was equally happy and now have made it my mission to slowly work my way through their menu. They even offer catering which is definitely something to remember for future reference.

If you love scrapbooking then this business is a must to visit. They have unique products and embellishments and offer great advice. They have albums there for inspiration which change periodically. They even take orders if you have specific words you want for your page. For a small fee you can scrapbook there all day with drinks and biscuits provided. This is a relatively new business to this area and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it.

I know it's a long way for me to travel from Mill Park to Surrey Hills and there are lots of hairdressers in between, but if you want the best of the best then so be it. Mira, the owner/hairdresser, really listens to her clients and does a fantastic job with creating new looks that leave you walking out of there confident and looking fantastic. Prices are excellent and well below most competitors.
