This review is for Alfred's Homestead, Warrandyte South VIC

I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. It's a gorgeous homestead set on a beautiful 9 acre property in Warrandyte South. Everything is home made right down to the sauces and condiments. It's smorgasbord, but don't be put off by that. The food is out of this world. Go on an empty stomach, you'll want to taste a bit of everything. Saturday nights there is a floorshow which is particularly entertaining regardless of age group. Although the restaurant is quite large, it still has that intimate dining atmosphere. No matter what the occasion, from a romantic dinner for two, to a get together with friends, a family function, or even your wedding/wedding reception, you wont be disappointed. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Nothing I say will do it the justice it deserves.

This review is for Fullife Midnight Pharmacy, Mill Park VIC

I have been using this pharmacy since I moved to this area. Their range is extensive, even offering an excellent range of giftware. Most staff are friendly and all staff are quite knowledgeable in their area. Say hi to Tony, their resident naturopath. He's has amazing knowledge and you'll be blown away by his sense of humour. If buying medicine though, be prepared for the Spanish Inquisition from the staff that work in that area of the pharmacy. I have never known dispensary staff to grill a customer like these people do to the point of embarrassment.

This review is for Phoenix City Chinese Restaurant, Mill Park VIC

Phoenix City offer fantastic food at very affordable prices. They even do a cheap lunchtime banquet! Kim, the owner, (yes, I've been going there for a lonnng time) goes out of her way to make sure your meal is exactly as you want it and is extremely hospitable. The restaurant is fairly plain on the outside and the decor has remained the same for as long as I remember, a bit stuck in the 70's but I'd hate to see the original Chinese lanterns go. The food is some of the best Chinese I have ever eaten.

This review is for Mill Park Superclinic, Mill Park VIC

With the exception of just a couple, the doctors at this clinic are thorough and genuinely care about their patients. There is lots of comfortable seating accommodating for all types of seating prefences from regular chairs to loungy couches to armchairs which makes the wait comfortable. The Reception staff are friendly and generally show plenty of compassion to clients.

This review is for The Elgin Inn, Hawthorn VIC

verified email - 08 Feb 2009

I had been going to the Elgin hotel for meals on and off for years, as had various members of family scattered across nearby suburbs. Hadn't been there for quite a while though and had to organise a work function for hubby's workplace so thought we'd go there. Big mistake, and slightly embarrassing considering I'd talked the place up. I'd say they have changed owners. Their once beautiful big bistro is now a pool room and the narrow main bar area has been converted to the dining room and completely lacks ambience now. The meals were still good apart from the seafood which wasn't very fresh and their idea of salad is rocket with a morsel of dressing splashed over it. They only offered two desserts that night and one they were out of, and they had already shut down their coffee machine well before 9pm!

This review is for Strandbags, Greensborough VIC

Were extremely rude to my teenage son when he was trying to exchange a gift. The gift had a value of over $100 and the item he wanted was only available at another store. Because the person that purchased it for him had paid on credit card, he was accused of credit card theft. He left the store shaken and upset, naturally so. The original purchaser returned to the store with him and obtained a refund without too much trouble, but no apology was offered. When the original purchaser bought his gift, she was specifically told that he could obtain an exchange or refund provided he had the receipt so she was particularly annoyed with the store that not only had they treated him so disgustingly, but that she had to go out of her way to return to the store herself.

This review is for Serenity Beauty Boutique, Greensborough VIC

I highly recommend Serenity Beauty Boutique. Linda and her staff are warm, friendly & accommodating. They listen to their clients needs and ensure you walk out of there more than satisfied. After my beauty therapist left the salon I used to go to I salon hopped thinking I'd never find something equal to what I had. How wrong I was. I found better. For excellent prices, quality and service, give Serenity a go. You wont be disappointed.
