This review is for Mary Ryan's Books Music & Coffee, East Toowoomba QLD

verified email - 25 Jun 2012

Look, books and coffee are really a winning combo. It's not hard for Mary Ryan's to get it right, and they do. Staff are usually friendly, service is fast and the food is good. The range of books is fantastic, and I could stand there all day reading and sipping coffee if for one thing - the chairs inside are SUPER uncomfortable and hurt my butt. I'd spend more time there if I could stand to sit on those wooden torture devices. I'd love to stay but my lower back won't let me. I know this sounds like a small thing, but you can't frequent a cafe that you can't sit down in for long! The outside chairs are better, so i love Mary Ryans when the weather is warm and not too windy.

This review is for Firefly, Toowoomba City QLD

I'm almost prepared to overlook Firefly's grumpy staff because the food here is AMAZEBALLS. Seriously, it is absolutely, mouthwateringly delicious. And even better - it's cheap! Their cold drip coffee is also something to try - it's delicious. Delicious delicious delicious! The whole menu makes my mouth water. This would be a 5/5 if only they could get their staff to smile and show some form of human emotion.

My driving instructor Andrew was so patient and helpful. I'd recommend TK's to anyone who's nervous about driving.

Fantastic nappies - I would say the best on the modern cloth nappy market. Super simple to use and wash, DAD FRIENDLY! They're as easy as disposables but so much better for the environment and your wallet. I used them for both children and it would have saved me around $3000-$4000 I nappies for two children. I always recommend Gren Kids to my expecting friends.

This review is for Little Legs Play Cafe, Toowoomba QLD

verified email - 25 Jun 2012

Kind of disappointing in every sense of the word - the staff weren't rude, they just ignored us completely. It was reasonably priced for food and coffee, you just had to wait an hour for them to arrive at your table. The play equipment was dirty, the floors filthy, the lounges stained. Such a fantastic business idea - and always so busy - but it seems like the owners don't care too much for the facilities, don't hire staff that seem to care about customer service or the health and safety of their patrons.

This review is for Kaboom Comics, Toowoomba City QLD

verified email - 25 Jun 2012

I love Kaboom! The new shops clean and well laid out, the staff are always friendly and happy to talk about comics all day - they definitely know their stuff! Located on Ruthven St with parking close by or a quick walk from Margaret St, it leads the way for comic book stores in Toowoomba (and is better than a lot of comic book stores I've visited in Brisbane!) If you're a comic book fan, it's definitely worth a visit!!

This review is for Bon Amici, Toowoomba City QLD

verified email - 25 Jun 2012

This is actually my second review for this cafe, because although the food and coffee is still good, service at Bon Amici has unfortunately suffered over the last year. It changed management, and the staff are now mostly new staff. They're slow, and it's hard to get a smile out of any of them. I miss the old Bon Amici. Disappointed.

Horrendous service, rude & unhelpful. Food was great but won't be back. Customer service makes a business, and this place just doesn't cut it. Very disappointing.

One of the best cafes in Toowoomba - friendly staff, intimate, cozy atmosphere, SUPERB coffee and yummy food (although a limited menu) and has some of the best music gigs and jazz sessions i've been to. LOVE it!

Definately have to agree with Lukep2 - the editors of the paper REALLY need to find some more people to write letters to them - there are people that write in week after week, not about current events or anything, they just write in telling people what their cat ate for breakfast or other nonsense. We'll all know when those people pass away or leave town because they'll be no more letters from them!
