I have been to several hearing clinics over the past 10 years and each time I have not received the attention I needed except for Brindabella HSC. The others seemed more interested in selling me hearing aids and not in my hearing problem as such. Recently my high frequency hearing loss became bad enough to require some assistance. I attended the centre at Bruce (Medical Hub, University of Canberra). My hearing was assessed more thoroughly than ever before. Every aspect of my hearing needs and condition were discussed. Hearing aids were discussed in full. Costs and approaches and subsidies (if any) were noted. Follow up has been of a high quality. Recently I attended an information exchange session at Deakin and was able to hear professional advice as well as others' concerns and questions. It was extremely useful.
Every audiologist and support staffer I have met have always been professional in attitude, courteous, friendly and concerned for a good outcome for my needs. Support, further information and hearing aid service is available and timely. I am now set to explore further ways of optimising the use of my hearing aids in many different situations. This applies to both the Deakin and Bruce centres that I have attended.
