This review is for Dr Vanessa King, Fitzroy VIC

Dr King was on call when I delivered my first bub as unfortunately my doctor wasn't on call that weekend. I was in transition when she finally arrived early on a Sunday morning. I remember her commenting to the midwife that her family was away for the weekend and she wished she could have slept in (I'm sure she didn't think I could hear her, but I did). She insisted I roll on my back even though I had been labouring for 16 hrs on my knees and elbows up on the bed as her comment was she couldn't control the baby if I was on my knees. That was so hard to do when nearly ready to deliver. She then made me push so hard in the final stages and it felt so unnatural, my face had blood blisters on it after the birth. She also insisted on an episiotomy which I refused, luckily. For some reason she didn't come and see me after the birth, maybe as it was a long weekend. I did complain to the clinic about this some time after and they apologised and said it was an unintended oversight, but I still never heard from Dr King directly which I found upsetting. It meant I had no debrief on the birth from someone who was present, which I think is essential. I'm sure if she is your booked doctor, you understood how she practiced, she knew your birth plan, and you built a rapport with her she would be good (she has alot of wonderful reviews), but I still hold this upset 6.5 years later. I had a healthy bub and recovered well so I cant complain on that front. I booked another doctor for bub number 2 who happily let me deliver on my knees and elbows up on the bed (they insisted it was one of the safest positions for birth), never mentioned an episiotomy and never asked me to forcibly push, just guided me with my breathing, to avoid tearing, as I crowned. It was a much better experience. They also came and checked me every day after the birth whilst in hospital, as expected. My hope from this delayed review is that it's understood that what women need in birth is to be supported, listened to and most importantly left as undisrupted as safely possible. The birth experience is not something a mother forgets.

This review is for Elwood Collision Repair Centre, Elwood VIC

verified email - 18 Jan 2018

My insurance company recommended another company as they could automatically approve them and not need to wait for a quote and the repair would be 3-5 days. This issue was this company couldn't give a loan car and with 2 children I needed one. So I decided to look around.

Elwood Collision were local and gave a loan car at only $50 with reduced excess. They said it was no issue and they would arrange all the insurance and it would take 7 days. so far all sounded good.

After 7 days I hadn't heard anything and my car wasn't in the shop - actually no work was taking place in the shop so I am not even sure where the car was taken. This wasn't communicated. After 10 days I enquired and they apparently still hadn't received the insurance approval, after 2 weeks I enquired and then told it would be a bit longer. Finally a sms to say it was ready on day 19.
Very poor communication!

When I returned the car and took out the car seats with my two kids with me I was told that the loan car wasn't cleaned and I had to pay a $50 penalty for not bringing it back washed. The receptionist who was the only one there called the owner who verbally abused me on the phone to the point I was in tears saying how rude I was not bringing his loan car back washed. Apparently it was in the small print. To be honest I didn't think of this and would have been happy to wash it if I knew but I had already taken the car seats out. He said over the phone would refused to give my car back until I paid the $50.

I appreciate that I should have brought the car back washed but the abuse I sustained and the communication from this company was appalling. Yes the job was done well and my car was fixed but this is not the only thing that customers find important. My husband refused to take his car there after this happened to me - he had a quote from them the week before and was planning on using them.

Good luck with the new business - I will make sure to spread the word not to use your service. I hope the $50 to clean the car was worth it!
