This is the cheapest medical bookstore in Australia. If you become a member by paying a minimal fee, you can get further discounts. Only drawback is the really limited opening hours (only open for about 2-3 hours each day). But this can be compensated with the online ordering service where the books can be delivered right to your doorstop. This is also the place to get those diagnostic kits you need for your MBBS training.
With seafood delivered fresh from the fish market, the servings are fabulous. But the main attraction (for me, at least) is not the seafood, ironically, but the infamous fried Mars bars, which apparently have received the green light approval from the Mars bar company itself. This is a sure treat for those who delight in sinking their teeth into gooey melted chocolate and caramel after crunching through the crispy layer of coconut-flavoured fried batter coated with icing sugar. If you love sweet desserts, this will make a great after-dinner treat or even just a lovely afternoon snack. The staff are friendly too.
Living on campus at uni, this pharmacy is a real convenience. The staff is always friendly and ever ready to help. Prices, however, are slightly more than those out of campus.
It's one of the best art supplies around in town where you can find practically any arts and craft stuff you need whether you're an artist or just a hobby enthusiast. Prices are reasonably cheap and the staff are pretty friendly too.
Despite it being a seafood restaurant, I went there for a yum cha session with friends instead. The food was nice but being a busy restaurant, the service can be slow at times and the queue can be super long especially if you're hitting the place with a large group of friends - waiting for a large table to clear up made us wait about an hour before we were finally seated.
Perfect place for a yum cha session with friends in the city area. The carts come around regularly, offering tantalizing options. Ambient atmosphere with your standard red carpets and round tables make a good spot for friendly chats over cups of hot Chinese tea.
As a new client, service is just plain ok. But from my observation, regular clients seem to be getting the better treatment - I guess the relationship and service is built up over a longer period of time. Charges however exceed standard fees - normal consultations cost around $50. Housecall service provided for regular clients.
A drawback of this clinic is that you have to book an appointment beforehand as no walk-in is permitted. This means that during busy periods, it will only be several days before you can see the doctor, more so if you request for a particular doctor. You could probably have recovered by the time of your appointment. Otherwise, everything else is generally alright, more so when the charges do not exceed the standard charge i.e. the doctors don't charge beyond...
Excellent authentic Indian fare - some recommendations to try out are the butter chicken and if you can tolerate spicy stuff, go for the vindaloo or the milder madras fish curry. Papadams and naan should go with your meals and consider complementing them with the mango lassi drink or mango kulfi dessert. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere is an added bonus for a great Indian experience.
Approximate cost: $15
This is a really fantastic sushi bar with all sushi plates (doesn't matter what sort of dish) at an amazing price of $2.80 per plate, and if you have a student card to flash, it's reduced to $2.50 per plate. If there is a dish that is not on the sushi train or if you just want something fresh, you can easily order it to be made on the spot at no extra charge. Good spot to chat with a close friend over cheap sushi lunch.
