Great people, able to obtain a rare glass item for my splashback. I'd never hesitate to use them for any artistic or specialty glass items. Top notch job, by people who know what they're doing!

Approximate cost: $2000

Depends what you want but my experience was 'interesting'!

I got my money's worth of entertainment, though!
The students are really lovely, and the actual service you get is great - it's just the cut isn't good if you are looking for something unusual.

The girl really listened to what I said, and then the supervisor tried to interfere to tell her that the hairdresser always knows better than the client. I then had to explain WHY I wanted what I said and his answer was -'Oh, that makes sense!'
I can't believe they still teach them this attitude, when the number one complaint about hairdressers is that they do something entirely different to what you asked for.

The lovely girl was too frightened of the super to take off the two centimetres I asked for and so she took off half to one cm... and nothing off the front. I said I wanted to keep some length at the front, not all of it. So I cut my hair again when I got home.

She didn't grade it enough at the back - I have 1940's style hair which is NOT a wash and wear cut - but that's what they gave me - it's impossible that someone would require something away from 'the norm' of course! :-) I didn't want to insist at that price - I figured my telling them, against him training them like that?... I wasn't gonna win.

What I really went for was to get the line of an undercut happening, so my hubby can keep clipping it down for me. I got that, at least, even though they didn't have small clippers with a guide, and the super ended up doing it with the bare clippers and a comb.
He did it badly and unevenly, by the way; the length, not the line. He was in a hurry to get everyone to go to lunch...hmmm.

I told the girl how I wanted the line, she did it that way, and then the super came along and did something else... then she put it back the way I wanted her to. Then he queried that, and I said it was what I wanted, and then I got the 'You're such an idiot' look from him. There is no place for that in hairdressing, or any other industry. So anyway, I got what I wanted.

Then the girl blow dried my hair straight - even though I told her I wear it curly. And burnt my scalp as well. Not to mention the heat was way too high for my hair. And the crap she put in it bonded to my hair so it went too silky and slippy and I lost all my texture. It's taken me two days five shampoos and one bleach and one dye to strip the crap from that blowdry on my hair.

Not to mention straight hair looks ridiculous and aging on me. It was so flat on the top of my skull, I looked like a pinhead, with my double chin and my thick hair splaying out at just under chin length. Had to tie it back for the rest of the day.

Hubby peed himself laughing when he saw what they did! It WAS hilarious, and I'm not vain enough to be stroppy about it. You get what you pay for, but not what you ask for! :-)

Got the line of the undercut, but won't be going back!

Too much trouble to explain to the supervisor that my hair has been on my head a lot longer than he's been cutting hair, and I should know it by now. Better than he does.

This is why I cut and dye myself, normally, because they just don't LISTEN; and now it seems they are trained not to listen.

Overall ok, but never again!

Approximate cost: $18
