I took my perfectly functioning watch in here to have the hands painted black as they were too pale to see clearly. When I collected the watch I was happy with the job that had been done and the price charged, but the watch didn't work! The jeweller refused to take responsibility for having damaged the watch when painting the hands and accused me of lying that the watch worked when I brought it in!! He became extremely hostile and verbally agressive when I told him I wasn't going to pay extra for him to fix something that wasn't broken when I brought the watch in. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I often buy children's clothes from Pumpkin Patch for my nephews and nieces birthdays. The clothes are good quality fabric, well made and durable, and good value. The staff can print you a gift receipt that doesn't show the price, so the gift can be exchanged if it is the wrong size or style.

I took my car here for a second opinion after I'd been told by another mechanic that both my front and rear brakes needed replacing. Goodyear took the tyres off and tested them while I waited and said there was nothing wrong with the rear ones and that I only needed the front ones replaced. All up I saved about $200. Also, the place is efficient and well staffed so no delays.

This review is for Moderne Drycleaners, Corrimal NSW

After some sub-standard drycleaning experiences in Wollongong I was very pleased to find Moderne in Corrimal. As well as super-friendly service, they do an excellent job of drycleaning. I had a coat that I thought was ruined that they were able to make look like new. I've even had them offer not to charge me if they can't get a stain out (they did get the stain out). The best drycleaners in the area.

A convenient local fresh seafood shop where you can buy all types of raw seafood. The shop has recently been refurbished so it looks like they have less filleted fish available than before, but if you ask for a particular type of seafood, usually they have it out the back and can sell it to you. Reasonable value and the seafood always looks pretty fresh.

This review is for State Of Bean, Figtree NSW

State of Bean roasts Fair Trade coffee beans at its premises in North Wollongong. You place your order online and then it is delivered for free (I don't know how close you have to live) within a few days. The coffee beans are fresher and cheaper than buying in a store and the free delivery service is fantastic. I love the blend they make as well. A real find!!

Very high quality array of baked goods to choose from. I had a croissant with a creme chocolate filling. It was delectable and big enough to share with my partner. I also ordered a hot chocolate - great taste, but although I asked for it to be extra hot it wasn't. Definitely worth a try if you want to spoil yourself.

This review is for Big John's Pizza, Sans Souci NSW

They do the best pizza here of anywhere I've tried in Sydney or the Illawarra. The pizzas are loaded with a lot more generous quantity of toppings than just about anywhere else and they are so good that we go right out of our way to go here. The place opens early (around 5) and fills up very quickly. It is deservedly very popular. They serve italian meals as well as pizzas which I haven't ordered, partly because the meals are so huge, but also because I am happy to share a pizza.

This review is for Manjit's Indian Restaurant, Corrimal NSW

Unfortunately I would have to say that the curries here are the worst I've ever had. They are bland, tasteless and the quality of tinned food. This place used to be way better before it changed ownership a few years ago, and now it has turned into the McDonald's of indian food - that is, catering to the tastes of young children rather than adults. We went several times after it changed hands, each time hoping we'd just had a bad experience the last time, but after the most recent meal there, we will never go back. We left most of the food we'd ordered last time as it was so unpalatable. This restaurant would only suit those who like very mild food.

This review is for Dhok Koon Thai Restaurant, Fairy Meadow NSW

This is my favourite Thai restaurant in Wollongong. We often get home delivery and sometimes eat in. The Red Curry Duck and Thai Beef Salad are my two favourite choices. Both have nice strong flavours and the meals taste very fresh. When you order home delivery they include a complimentary bag of prawn crackers. They are a bit slow with home delivery even though we live close by, so it is worth putting the dishes in the microwave for a couple of minutes when they arrive. They have a cheap lunch menu but the food is not as good as the more expensive dinner menu.
