This review is for Luv A Coffee, Beenleigh QLD

verified email - 05 Oct 2013

I hate leaving bad reviews because I want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. However having been to luv a coffee several times I find I need to write a review. The food is good, not great but good. It's tasty and satisfying but the 'comes with chips' should be - we'll give you five chips and the other people who've ordered get ten and the other person gets twenty. If you're going to have chips as a free side ensure everyone gets the same. Second the condiments are really expensive. For a maybe four cm diameter and one cm deep teeny bowl of aioli it's $3!!! Seriously?! You have to pay over fifteen dollars for your main then have to pay for condiments ?!?! It's not a Michelin star restaurant it's a cafe in a dodgy street with homeless people walking past. Thirdly - if someone is in line waiting to be served and a 'regular' pushes in - DONT SERVE THE REGULAR FIRST!! Serve the person in line first!! Watching the lady serving on a Sunday morning was really annoying, we waiting patiently in line behind a taxi driver who didn't seem capable of buttoning up his shirt and another taxi driver pushed in front of us. There wasn't an apology from the server nor did she say to the regular 'I'm sorry sir but this lady was first I'll be with you in a moment!' So we were left waiting in line... And then had the pleasure of listening to the servers talk about their social lives over the weekend. I truly do not give a flying fig leaf what you did on your weekend and I most certainly don't care to have my child hear all about it. Because we had vouchers we decided to try again the next day and hope that lunch was a bit better. Again with the ridiculous charge for condiments, the staff AGAIN were disinterested and rude (one of the girls was wearing a skirt so short It was indecent) the chicken parmie was clearly warmed in a microwave as it wasn't hot all the way through, the chips soggy and the drinks cost only slightly more than the condiments. If you want value for money take your own condiments lol it'd be cheaper to buy the whole bottle and sneak it into your handbag. Would I recommend luv a coffee? No I don't think I would. They clearly need to learn the value of keeping their customers happy, not alienating future customers by ignoring them in favour of regulars and realise they aren't as posh and cool as they think - ps fix your bench seats they're falling apart and actually hurt to sit on!!

Approximate cost: $15

This review is for Currumbin RSL, Currumbin QLD

I'm so disappointed with the RSL. We have had many good meals over the years in various rsl's so on a random trip to the Gold Coast we decided to pop into the RSL for a quick bite to eat. One in our party chose to eat from the cafe which was served very quickly and my daughter and I chose to eat from the restaurant- big mistake. We had fairly simple orders- kids fish and chips and a chicken panini- 30 minutes after we ordered we still haven't received our orders so upon checking out what was happening there was a scramble and a lame excuse of 'the receipts got mixed up' to be honest the food was boring over priced and very disappointing when we finally got it.

Unless I'm buying my meat in bulk I always get it from Beenleigh Butchery. Their meat is of the highest quality and always tender and cooks brilliantly. The Xmas hams are award winning and legendary and I would recommend getting in early to ensure you get a nice big one!!

This review is for On The Edge Cafe, Beenleigh QLD

The service at Cafe Edge is superb for a small charity cafe. We ate there a few weekends ago for breakfast and it was delightful. They are very good with children and have several 'themed' dining areas. We chose the black and white themed Parisian room which was very elegant. I think with a bigger kitchen they could probably get the food out a lot quicker but other than that its a good feed for a cheap price and well worth the visit :)

Beenleigh Pet motel provides a family environment for your fur babies. They are safe, well equipped with basic or luxury lodgings for your pets. The rates are competitive and close to the M1 for easy drop off. They even have a pet grooming business attached to the motel so your babies can be pampered in your absence !!
