This review is for O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat, Canungra QLD

We stayed at O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat overnight. Staff all accomodating. Room was pleasant. Very quiet and clean.
We loved it all. Except for the food. Very expensive. Not the sort of meals for hungry walkers. A La Carte is not what we thought you would serve in this environment. Bar meals inadequate as very small. All food at the Gift Shop was expensive. We would have been very happy if meals were
more hearty and homely. Breakfast was very expensive.
We were lucky to be given a discount and enjoyed the buffet
breakfast enormously.

Approximate cost: $40.00 - $15.00 approx.

Historic Rivermill we picked as a Birthday Lunch venue on a Sunday. We found staff friendly and accomodating. Food excellent and a good price. Beautiful spot with outside dining on a deck with views of river. Children welcome with petting farm on side and swings and train. Outside seating under retunder. We had hamburgers (very large) with chips on side.
Bar stocks beers and wines. Childrens menu is large as well
and is a good range. We will return.

Approximate cost: $10.00 - 20.00

The Promenade in Robina Town Centre is an eye opener. With fountain and restaurants set up with tables on Promenade.
Nice setting. Very busy. Now dumplings were ok. Would not rave over them. Staff friendly and helpful. Had a wet dish as well which was better than the dumplings.

Met up with Car Club at the Diner. Well not impressed at first look. No tables set up for a large group. Staff did not know we were coming. Food was soso. Nothing to rave about. It could be made into a great American Diner if thought went into it. So may car enthusiasts show there cars in carpark and this gets crowds to come and browse. Turn it into a real American Diner and it would do well.

Well arrived at 10 with Car Club for morning tea and found all locked up and no one around. 11 oclock staff member arrived and said sorry traffic jam, let us in and proceeded to cook up scones for our morning tea. Waited, and finally arrived. Not impressed with service. Views are all I can say impressed me with this day.

This review is for Cobb & Co Museum, East Toowoomba QLD

Expected this Museum to be overpriced. Pleasantly surprised.
We had lunch out in the courtyard and then did a walk of the Museum. Very informative. A school was doing a day there as well and we were surprised how it did not seem overcrowded.
Staff friendly. Service fast and proficient. Meal was quickly served and nice. Would take visitors there as very impressed.

This review is for Bestbrook Mountain Resort, Maryvale QLD

Bestbrook Day At Farm. We went here for a Car Club Day Out. No-one went horseriding but previously we have gone horseriding for an hour and found it great. Relaxing ride through the moutains down to the creek and back to homestead. Children have an hour ride in closed in paddock before ride. We had lunch in the homestead inside but there are tables on verandah to enjoy the view whilst dining. Food was good. Hamburgers and chips were our fair.
After lunch we went to farmyard to see cows being milked, how butter is made, Damper made and cooked over the fire. Excellent day for young and old to experience just a tiny bit of farmlife.

This review is for Woodlands Of Marburg, Amberley QLD

Beautiful old home on a hill surrounded by grapevines and beautiful gardens. A home from yesteryear. Stayed in the demountables on site that were comfortable. Pool to swim in if hot. We were with car club and spent one night away and dined at Woodlands that night. Beautiful old rooms with fireplaces and verandahs and would be ideal place to have a wedding ceremony. Food was delicious. Historical cemetery on property which is very interesting to walk around. Breakfast was in separate building from Woodlands and was all you would desire for breakfast in hot and cold. Ghost tours are offered here on some nights which we did not take them up on but we did see quite a few snakes whilst on our wanders.

This review is for Honeysuckle Cottages, Stanthorpe QLD

verified email - 17 Jul 2014

Stanthorpe Honeysuckle Cottages were our stay for a Car Club Weekend Away. Well, could not be better. Each couple had a cottage with full kitchen, lounge and bedroom. Your own fireplace with wood supplied outside. The best was the owners bring you your breakfast supplies to make your own breakfast the next morning. Kitchen fully outfitted with everything. Just off the main highway but no noise just sound of the wind through the trees. Awesome rock formations around the cottages make for lovely photos. Close to all winerys. Macdonalds next door if wanting fastfood. We will be back.
