No way do I recommend Metricon. I was a single mother, working a full time job on one low income wage. I should not have even been given the loan (using Metricon's mortgage broker). I was paying rent and paying a construction loan.
I was promised a beautiful new house in Caroline Springs, but after I signed the contract I was shocked at the lies and deceit of hidden costs.

None of these inclusions-

Only standard doors and door handles.
No frosted glass on bathrooms or toilet windows.
1 powerpoint in each room.
1 light fixture in each room (no downlights).
no TV ariel.
no computer connections.
no timbers decks, front or back (slab left at front and just dirt at back.
no landscaping, just mud.
no fences
no window furnishings
no airconditioning
no concrete driveway
no concrete paths
extra cost to pay for nicer bricks
extra cost for any rendering
No fly screens on any windows or sliding doors

They left me with tons of mud in back yard that would cost $2000 to take away. It was cheaper for me to build retaining wall which was not ideal and in the end the mud sunk and entire landscaping had to be redone.
They left me with hundreds of left over bricks on site. I had to cart them away in a wheel barrow.

The house started cracking and did not offer compensation but explained that I needed a concrete apron put around the house because of slab heave. This would have cost $2,500.

The plastic underground pipes were broken, water was seeping everywhere outside. The ducted heating was not connected properly in the ceiling.

Metricon house was basic shell.
They make you sign a contract to understand that your home will not look anything like the display home.
