I attended here with a Christmas breakup Dec 2013. absolutely superb grand old sandstone building, gardens were dry. I was disappointed not to see way more rose bushes. I couldn't fault the food, service etc. turkey main meal, pavlova dessert-all very yummy. the owner entertained our group dressed as santa's elf & treated us to Christmas trivia game. it is a great location & fun was had by all. big thanks.

clean & tidy. busy on this particular evening as Kringle Fest was on. surprised by the variety of gourmet cakes/tarts as it is a bakery cafe-was expecting the usual lamington etc. i chose a cherry/blueberry/pomegranite tartlet-delectable to say the least! even had an icing(snowflake i think)on top! maybe for the winter scene outside at the time.the cappacino coffee was to my liking-right temperature-just right to sip. cakes&tarts prices from $4.20-very good value. they have pies, baked bread&rolls etc-everything a bakery would normally stock. indoor & outdoor seating with heating! nice little place.

The Port Cafe is situated in Port Arthur Historic Site just outside Visitor Centre which means you don't have to pay to go into the site to dine in this cafe-that's beaut. as we've previously visited the site,we were able to just peruse the gift shop then have a lazy sit down with coffee&hot chocolate. my daughter said one of the best hot chocolates served with marshmallow on side! my coffee was at right temperature&was enjoyed immensely on this coldzz evening. at $4.00 was surprised as thought would be costly here.the guy who served was chatty&smiley. the display offered a variety foods to tempt us&fill us if we needed-dine in or takeaway. clean&tidy&plenty tables. pleasant atmosphere too. viewed large bowl wedges&sauces on side being delivered to table next door-their eyes lit up, ours did too! so we'll be back for a meal next time-very soon indeed while i'm still visiting Tasmania.

i'm a visitor to Hobart&was shopping at Eastlands so decided to check The Black Cat Cafe out-(i'm a cat lover!). well what a selection of food for a not so large cafe. the displays were fresh, clean, inviting. a medium size quiche set me back just $4.00! i chose spinach&fetta-yum-large chunks of feta too! a pack 5 small sandwiches-variety-only $5.50. cute too as one side wholemeal and other white. they were fresh&filling. tables were clean, plenty of staff on duty so no waiting, polite too. newspaper supplied for a browse. the hot ready to go food in banmarie looked just made&tempting-great for someone in a hurry.
