This used to be one of my favourite thrifting places. Recently it seems that they have gotten better at culling all the good pieces out of their stock, so the clothes at $8/kg aren't as great, though you can't really complain about price. You have to dig for items in giant unsorted bins, and it smells a little but not too much. Have found kilos of goodies that I have enjoyed, well worth a look if you have the time!
A great cafe to drop by near the University of Sydney - good coffee and food at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and background music is almost always good. The little courtyard out the back is definitely a winner - perfect for catchups or even group meetings.
Regularly go here to treat myself after a really long night/all-nighter. Close to the architecture faculty of the University of Sydney - love the $5 cinammon crepe and coffee deal! Staff are friendly, coffee is great (though the Azzurri downstairs is better for coffee and has a good vibe too). The one that serves crepes is upstairs; for a better atmosphere/music/comfortable seating, Azzurri downstairs is better.
Best bar food I've had; they've got pretty amazing lamb burgers served with spicy curly fries on the side. Drinks were superb - particularly Grandma's Addiction (so yum). Atmosphere is great and the waiters were really nice.
A great burger joint with satisfying food. Had a very good meal prior to a night out here and is conveniently close to Oxford St. Staff are really friendly and service was great; overall a really nice place to hit up!
Approximate cost: $15
A great cheap eat - had a meal for two for under $25. Conveniently close to the cinemas and an ATM - convenient since they only accepted cash. I was actually 20c short in cash but the lady was so nice and let us through, but we eventually found enough to pay her back. The food was great and seating good, though a little tight as an overall layout.
Approximate cost: $12
Came here with a few friends and it was pretty packed. Definitely on the sleazy end of things (in terms of the crowd) but the music was alright. A few too many men were turned down that night/made themselves known, but it was easy to say no. I'd definitely prefer something more low-key, but it was an ok night.
Have been here a few times and both experiences were great! Food was good and served in good time - ordered a risotto and an extremely generous serving was provided. It can get busy, but we still managed to get a table for 8 last time!
A great little pharmacy to drop by to for everyday things. Staff are friendly when you ask them for help. Only disappointment is that it's closed on Sundays.
A great venue - saw The XX and the Paper Kites here last week. Didn't disappoint either time, even with both shows sold out. Only annoying thing were the paper cups that they used to serve some ciders in (probably a no glass policy) which had a really strong paper smell, though on another night they were fine.
