A fun dinner to go to; I went with a group of twelve. Food is pretty good, but the chef is lots of fun. Had fun catching eggs in bowls and rice as well!
Approximate cost: $32
A quaint little cafe joint for the easily-delighted. I always get a muffin with my coffee here because they just taste so good.
A lovely Thai restaurant with quite a nice ambience. Food is served beautifully and tastes great - also for a decent price!
Went here last night for an incredible gig - listened to some really great jazz on comfortable seats. The venue itself is relatively small compared to other performance spaces, but lends itself well to an intimacy complemented by a wide range of seating and couch options. At the back there is a bar that has a good range of drinks, the bartender was really lovely. Their food is already really delicious and can be ordered while waiting for the gig. All in all it was a great night out - the venue holds jazz gigs 6 nights a week which is fantastic and for a very reasonable price too!
Ate here for lunch a few days ago - staff are incredibly friendly and remembered my name, which I wasn't particularly used to. They served the food quickly and it was delicious.
A cute little cafe with potted flowers and some wooden outdoor furniture. Situated on the corner of Equitable Pl & Little Collins, most of the seating offers views to a small street. The staff are friendly and the food we ordered was good. The coffee was also pretty good (though on the small side).
Approximate cost: $15
A lovely little pizzeria in the city. Pizzas are pretty amazing and the lasagne I ordered with the veal ragu didn't disappoint. Their blood orange granitas are also pretty incredible - don't know how they do it but it tastes so good!
Not a bad place for breakfast first thing in the morning. Juices are really nice though I tried a muffin last weekend and was a little disappointed (it was supposed to be raspberry and only had three raspberries on the top). Needless to say the staff are friendly and serve everything quickly.
A lovely little bar to go for some drinks. Went with some friends last Saturday and the atmosphere was perfect - the cocktails were great and the place wasn't too loud to distract from our conversation. The couches were comfortable and decor quite kitsch though fine in the dimmed setting. My friend, who's quite the fan of gin, was also impressed by the 40+ (from memory) gins they had on offer.
Came here for a casual lunch last weekend and the four of us were lucky to be seated at a table right away! The food was delicious - the pork rolls to start with were amazing. We also ordered a fantastic orange curry with a whitebait omelette and satay chicken which, though slightly different to the usual Malaysian flavours I've been brought up with, was also good. Waiters were extremely friendly and the fun decor finished the dining experience rather nicely!
