Ordered an iced latte and received instead a cup of caramel and liquefied sugar. Disgustingly sweet and undrinkable.

Tip: always taste coffee before exiting in case you require a replacement or refund, especially where 'baristas' appear young and inexperienced.

No recycling bin for soft plastics as opposed to COLES and circa ~100 other Woolworths stores around the country. That they sell so many goods with resplendent and unnecessary soft plastic packaging makes the lack of any initiative, sans one plastic bag bin, inexcusable.

Summary: Don't take your children.

Generally, I prefer Coles to Woolworths. However, the Hastings Coles branch is, to paraphrase Gordon Ramsay, 'the pits'.

The store smelt of stale urine (not unlike a men's bathroom at the pub) and there were people of intimidating and derelict appearance, some clearly drug affected and others wearing barely-there clothing, lining the isles.

Perhaps I entered on a bad day. I will return and review again if it has been improved.
